Latest BCS poll has vaulted Texas over USC......

your thoughts on that and who will be in the top 4 at the end of the season...

1. Texas
2. Virginia Tech
3. Alabama
4. UCLA (Let me dream...)

I don't know who will be the top four but texas and usc will be top two. But on a related note I hate the BCS, they have BC, who lost to the only ranked team they've played, ahead of Notre Dame.

I haven't seen much of Texas play but until USC loses I'm going to pick them to win.

Vince Young is a beast. USC hasn't shown the desire to win until the 2nd half of most of their games. If they do the same agains Texas, its over by the first quarter.

I doubt USC would come out slow in a championship game and the way they played Notre Dame makes me believe they can handle any team.

we played Virginia when they were ranked and beat them. we played FSU to the wire. we have one loss.

ND has two losses. They lost to Michigan St. Just because they stepped up against USC doesnt mean they should be above teams from power conferences who have only 1 loss.

We play Va Tech this week and if we lose that, you can rest assured ND will be ahead of us. We deserve the spot we are in right now, with only 1 loss to a top 10 team.

I know ND has two losses and I'm not trying to discredit what BC has done but Notre Dame has beaten three ranked teams on the road, that to me should have them ranked higher than they are in the standings.

Texas has manhandled nearly every opponent, not too mention absolutely dismantling Tech down to 17 points. watching them play that game has me wondering just how good a USC UT game could be. Incredible team, that will definitely see the rose bowl, but may not hang on to their #1.

tu doesnt deserve the number 1. usc hasnt lost in over 2 years. i believe that makes usc number 1 until they lose. texas destroyed a completely overrated texas tech team. that doesnt show much.

usc has beaten an underrated oregon team and a great nd team. both of those at home. i think usc will end up the national champ again. leinhart > vince young. bush > sliced bread

yeah I certainly think ND has a strong resume ...but either way, its early, and its the BCS. I am completely against it, mostly because its a stupid formula. Now we have the Harris Poll counting as a major part? That's a joke. It's a bunch of people voting for their alumni as high as they can get away with.

Does everyone agree that the best way to settle everything is make everyone play an 11 game season, and an 8 or 16 team tournament (with a max of 14-15 games) ? As far as sponsors go, give things like the "Independence Bowl" a 1st round game or something so they stay happy ..and then all the eligible teams that arent in the top 16 can still play in bowl games. The duration of the season would stay the same because there wouldnt be a month layoff between the season and postseason. I'm interested to see though if there are BCS supporters here, and what they think the case for having it is?

Notre Dame played SC to the wire, and probably should have won that game. Now, mind you, Notre Dame was ranked 9th at the time. Watching that game, it is tough to say that SC can come out against power teams in power conferences and beat them. Texas, Virginia Tech, Alabama all have been overshadowed by SC until this week's BCS. I think "hype" keeps SC number 1 every week. Remember, just because SC hasn't loss in 20-some-odd games doesn't make them automatic number 1. It's this season that counts.

But, this will all be settled come January.

The thing that really impressed me about their victory was the fact they did it on the road. If they would have won by the same score at home I would have to agree that they should be number two but to do it on the road is impressive.

I'm not sure who Texas would play in the game, but i do know that the Big 12 championship game has been a big stumbling block for a lot of teams on thier way to the title game, i wouldn't be shocked if the trend continued.

It's understandable, considering that Texas demolished a ranked team and we demolished an unranked team. It's the way things goes, and I'm not worried. Winning out will still put us in the Rose Bowl. I mean, it sort of sucks, but whatever.

The Texas-USC game though... that should be an amazing game.

I can give you that. They have been road warriors lately and finally get to go home for a while. But Cal, even though they're self-destructing, and UCLA won't be a walk in the park.

Does anybody think that Notre Dame's huge drop in the polls last week was justified. They put up one hell of a game against USC. Just because they had 2 losses didn't mean they should be down at #17. just a thought, I know its a bit late.

but my prob is, if usc stays number 2. and vtech stays unbeaten and number 3. if usc beats texas and tech convincingly beats whomever, the natl title could be split again when it should of just been usc...again.

Notre Dame has not beat a single team currently ranked in the top 25 they are a good team but do not belong anywhere near the top of the bcs

Texas should not be #1. USC has done nothing to warrant a drop in the polls

nothing

99% of the teams in college football wouldve lost that game at Notre Dame.

but yeah, the bcs is shit but MOST things will work out in the end.

people complaining about ND need not worry, if they win out they'll goto a bcs game.

and what does it matter if you're #1 or #2? you're still going to the big game.

the teams that should be worried are teams like V-Tech, who can win out and be watching the championship from their couches
