View Full Version : Easy Songs To Learn On Guitar
i've been playing acoustic guitar for a month now and I'm starting to get the hang of it, i just need to find some songs that are fairly easy to learn and won't make me gouge my eyes out with a pick out of frustration.
so far I've got The White Stripes - "Seven Nation Army" and Box Car Racer - "There Is" down; any suggestions?

as much as i dislike three days grace, i have heard their songs are easy to play. no offense to anyone who likes them.
and here's my two cents.
Blink 182-"I'm Gay"
Jawbreaker-"Boxcar"
Saves the Day-"This Is Not An Exit"
a lot of early punk is good to start with too, i.e., The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, The Misfits, early Joy Division, etc.

Good Riddance was the first song I ever learned on guitar, actually, it was so easily, the first 20 minutes of touching a guitar I learned it.
But the easiest song ever: "I Just Wanna Have Something To Do" - The Ramones

in all seriousness, the intro riff is way easy
So, who's the girl at school that we're trying to impress Mr. Goldy?
hahah that's definitely part of it, but i'm just eager to learn too. i'm a lefty and lefty guitars are expensive, so i'm playing a right-handed guitar in reverse which is working out awesome.
i've looked on other sites for songs to play, but i want to get ones from bands people on here LOVE.

I'd start with just learning some main riffs to famous/popular songs. You could probably just find a list of the 'best' main riffs in rock songs, and a lot of them will be easy(ish) to play.

Agreed. In fact anything by the Eagles and Led Zeppelin (whether you're learning the guitar part or some other instrument) is worth playing.
"Take it To The Limit" by the Eagles will get that girls heart (I should know)

Haha or Desperado for that matter. But yeah, those are two bands that pretty much every guitarist has dabbled in their music.
