Below is a message from Randy Nichols, Say Anything (www.sayanythingmusic.com)'s manager, regarding the ...Is A Real Boy re-issue confusion.
This is my first time posting here; I'm Randy Say Anything's new manager I want to attempt to clear up some confusion that's going on for the last few days. I saw all the posts on the board about getting the reissue and was obviously surprised since it's not supposed to be out until early next year. From what I have been able to figure out in the last few hours is that somehow J Records shipped out some copies before the release date was changed. All the copies were supposed to be shipped back to J but a few copies didn't go back and now a few of you are the only people with copies! I could be wrong but don't expect to find copies online or in record stores but if you do grab it because it wont be out for long.
In the next few weeks we'll be working to fix up the website and start posting more updates as we get ready for the real release of the reissue. Max is taking care of some personal things and will hopefully have more to say to all of you in the next few days.

Does this mean I am going to be suckered into buyinga THIRD copy of "is a real boy" to get the tracks (like WOE acoustic, etc...) that were not on the re-release I received?

i think this means this was never suppose to be released.... and the people that ordered it from Tower Records now have some sort of collectors SayAnything CD... unless the one in the spring is exactly the same....

Hahaha...I never thought of it that way...a "collectors" Say Anything CD. Works for me. :) I got my copy yesterday in the mail from Tower Records. I went back to Tower's page for the CD and they changed all the add'l info about the CD to say that they don't have any more info on it and when it will be released, etc.
Cool, I got my copy. :) I can't wait to hear more from the band in the next couple of days.

As I said in the other Say Anything reissue thread...
I smell some EBay auctions.

the tower records shipping department must be managed by the least competent person they could possibly find. i mean really, they screw up everything! and this time it worked to my benefit, wahoo

Even though I have the rare reissue, I still wish I had the "real" one with all the acoustic tracks and new recordings. I guess I'll be buying is a real boy for the 3rd time next year.
Somebody has to pay for Max to keep it together long enough to make it through a whole tour :sigh:

mine arrived today. it was in pretty bad condition, the case was somewhat shattered, some sort of ink was spilled on the Was a real Boy disc, that just added to my say anything related frustrations. i was really looking forward to seeing them again with saves the day. i really want to keep supporting these guys, but i just dont know.

max bemis is the one of the few people in the world that can repeatedly cancel tours, put off long awaited work and give his fans giant hand jobs many times without finishing and still be the fucking man.

I have 89 Say Anything songs; acoustic, demos, etc...But I do not have the vs. Aids demos, so if anyone would be so kind as to send me them, I would greatly appreciate it.

haha, yeah, they forgot to ship my fob preorder this spring (!) and after four days of the cd being out i called them, yelled at them, and then told them to just forget it and cancel the order and give me my money back so i could go buy it at walmart or something...so i did....for $7 less than it was from tower....and i still got my free t-shirt! i thought that was a pretty neat screwup on their part

This guy is a total jackass I have talked to him a couple times before, and he acts like he is a freaking celebrity cause he is 40 and manages bands that barely make any money for themselves
max bemis is the one of the few people in the world that can repeatedly cancel tours, put off long awaited work and give his fans giant hand jobs many times without finishing and still be the fucking man.
I always envisioned "the fucking man" as a man who gives giant hand jobs to other men without finishing

Yeah, thats me someone who thinks they are a celebrity and more important than my bands, clearly you havent spoken to me.
Ask any of the people from this site or the countless people I have met through the years helping out bands I manage and bands I don't even know.
PS, I am old but only 32, I'm sure by the time you hit that age you will be long over this scene but feel free to talk shit on those of us that actually stick around for a few years and care.
