I'm fairly dissapointed with todays releases so far. I bought Demon hunter, it's okay.

I think the Maylene record is sick. And you have to admit the whoe "The South Will Rise Again" thing is getting a little trendy.

And PAT...you got owned on the Neurosis thing...they definately have no southern elements. sorry dude. you gotta listen to music before you go throwing random band names around.

thats a good point and what i was describing was not as close to the magnitude of typical trends and fads. i guess im saying its a very minor fad, but not to the point where people are signing bands for that purpose, but that many bands incorporate a southern metal part in maybe on or two songs, or simply play a style of southern metalcore.

but with all that aside, we can now rejoice in the fact we are both hope for the white sox to win the world series. let's hope they sweep the shit out of them.

haha yeah... i see what your saying as well. but i always think in negative terms when you call something a fad.. i don't know.. it's just not a good word in my opinion.

i love these guys and im really into the whole southern rock metal thing these guys are doing with bands like the showdown and even fight paris and i definetely dont look at it as a fad though these bands are continuing to grow in popularity i think it is well deserved
