an under-rated truly beautiful film that never got the praise it deserved i feel.

a movie that totally captures the 90s and mixes a great story, with great music, and great morals...and I just feel like no one has seen it. Or at least no one has seen this movie in the same light as I have.

the soundtack alone just makes you want to cry and create a time machine back to the 1991-1998 era. It was an amazing time

I think I'll order this bitch on DVD now that you mention it. I was into Green Day hardcore when this movie came out.

there are petitions online to get it to DVD....

I feel like Angus was one of the few movies about high school, that actually told it like it is...through the eyes of a "normal" adolescent. You dont get that anymore...thats why our youth is in shambles.

Good times. I really loved this movie as well. Thanks for bringing it back up. I haven't thought it in years.

The soundtrack to this movie was/is incredible. I wish they still made good soundtracks like this.

such an amazing song in this movie.

The ending where he spits out that douchebag is still one of my favorite dialogues in a movie:

"Angus (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0847857/): I'm still here, *asshole*! I'll *always* be here!
[begins to violently push Rick across the dance floor]
Angus (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0847857/): You push me down and I'll get right back up again, and again, and *again*, and *again* and * again*!
[Rick falls, hitting his head on the steps to the stage]
Angus (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0847857/): I could beat you *right* here, *right* now! But *I don’t want* to be better than you, Rick! *I don’t want* to be better than *anybody*! I want to be who I *am*: a *fat* kid, who's good at science, and fair at football. That's who I *am*! I can *live* with it. Why can't you?
Rick (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004735/): Because it's not normal. *You’re* not normal.
Angus (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0847857/): And who is? You?
Rick (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004735/): You bet your ass.
Angus (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0847857/): And so what? to be normal, we all have to be like YOU? There are 400 people in this room that are *nothing* like you! Some of them are fat, some of them are skinny. Some of them are tall, some of them are short. Some of them have braces, some of them have birth marks, or scars, or frizzy hair, or *ears that stick out*!
[Troy's head pops up out of crowd]
Angus (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0847857/): But most of them probably walk through these halls *every day*, never telling anybody the truth about what they really want, or need, or believe, because people like you, *normal* people like *you*, have them *terrified* of being who they are. I mean, if *you’re* normal, what does that make them? So which is it, Rick? Are you normal? Or are you just one of us?
Rick (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004735/): Whatever I am, it's something you're never gonna be.
Angus (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0847857/): Thank God."

The grandfather's advice of "Screw em" was basically my motto through high school, too.

its one of the most like cliche....yet NOT cliche speeches in a movie ive ever seen. like a it makes sense...it has substance...its true kinda speech.

I remember the part in the movie where Angus goes to the place where the grandfater plays chess..and puts down the king, to signify that he died to the grandfathers chess friend. Like, it was so depressing for that old man to lose one of his friends....especially at his age where Im sure his list of companiions is getting smaller and smaller as time goes on.

This really is one of those that sadly continues to go under the radar because the only recognizable faces are the Sherminator and James Van Der Beek and those type of movies are usually propelled by having familiar stars.

It's such a good high school movie.
