Apparently, Jim Carrey has been pegged to play Robert Ripley in an upcoming movie entitled Ripley's Believe It or Not! There isn't much of a synopsis yet, but here's what IMDB has for us:
"Believe It or Not picks up with Ripley at the time when he gained celebrity status through a "Believe it or Not" column that chronicled his search for the greatest oddities in the world. Along the way, he starts to respect his unusual human discoveries as more than mere conquests to be documented."
Also, the studio is in negotiations with Christopher Columbus to direct the flick.
Does anyone else think this could be great?
EDIT: On a side note, apparently Johnny Depp was the first person in mind to play Ripley, but they decided to go with Carrey in the end. I'm not sure if Depp turned down the role, or what happened, but that's what I've read.
