Jared Kaufman

Circa Survive (http://www.circasurvive.com)'s drummer, Steve Clifford, made a post (http://circasurvive.com/board/index.php?showtopic=1884&pid=59511&st=20&#entry59511) on the band's message board saying:
"We've passed on Taste of Chaos. It's not for us, but Deftones' White Pony is one of my favorite records."

Deftones are one of the best bands i've seen live. Same goes for Circa Survive.

Mmm Pony. I've always been more of an Adrenaline fan, myself. I grew up listening to that record.

i liked some of juturna, but i saw them live last week and i don't understand the hype. every song sounded the same, the guitarists didn't play a chord until the last song, and anthony green kept falling on my and rolling his eyes into the back of his head (well, that was kind of cool). but overall, their set was really boring. the only upbeat song was their last one...and it was about 20 minutes late to keep me from losing interest.

Yeah...I don't think them opening for Mae was for them either, that was one of the single most disappointing performances they put on....the first time I saw them, I was just in awe, like I have to see them again....and yeah.

i like circa survive, but anthony green bands get way overhyped... and circa survive should be known more as ex-this day forward, because quite frankly, this day forward > circa survive > saosin

It would have been cool to see Thrice and Circa together. Hopefully Circa has a good tour coming up.

I went to a show last week they played at and left halfway into their second song. Way boring. I didn't stay for Mae either.

id like to start off by saying thank god. circa survive does not fit the taste of chaos vibe, an would be misplaced i that environment. them passing on it just proves that they arent just trying to get big like everyone else. i have so much more respect for them.

Deftones + Thrice + Circa + Thursday = best tour ever
but i don't see Circa Survive as a Taste of "Chaos" band. It would of been sweet tho

this is probably one of those 'you have to pay 10,000 dollars to play' type of deals, i don't blame anyone for not wanting to pay a ton of money to be on tour.

I remember when i was alot younger, deftones came around with incubus and hatebreed. Nobody liked hatebreed, and i was disappointed. But somehow chino's shoe fell off when he was stage diving and it landed in my hand. I still have that shoe in my closet 6 years later. I definitely have a huger boner for around the fur than anything else deftones

what a cool story
circa should have toured with deftones when deftones took dredg out. circa fits perfectly with deftones(white pony era). this would have been a great oppurtunity for em, but ok!
Days Away> Mae. sorry Slade lol
so many bands could fill the left side of the >.

I'm stoked for Deftones and Thrice regardless of whether or not Circa is on this tour. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for Thursday. That'd be the best show of the year.
I like 'Juturna' a lot, but have yet to see Circa live. Hopefully they're not as bad as everyone's saying when I see them with The International Noise Conspiracy and Nightmare of You.

you're all so stupid.
you decide to talk about taste of chaos and white pony
instead of talking about or even acknowledging the fact that, in the context he posted this news, the two have nothing to do with each other.
someone explain?

it did seem like a weird combination. i have the utmost respect for kevin lyman and the legacy he has created, but taste of chaos last year...ew.

I was excited to see them this year on the tour but I respect them even more now. They know what they want out of their career and playing this festival could have ruined what they want. I saw them a few weeks ago, probably one of the best performances I have ever experienced.

i'm kinda glad they are skipping out on the taste of chaos. they really wouldn't fit and it would probably make them look horrible. they should go headline a great tour

i think it was a good decision. i don't think they want to be tossed into the genre saosin belongs to. anthony left that band for a reason, and the taste of chaos is full of bands just like saosin.

Wait, Dredg and Circa have toured together, and you're saying this was a bad matchup?
How high are you, exactly?

I didn't hear about this. Weird lineup.

I was not impressed with Circa at all on the Mae tour... That line up was kind of backwards... Mute Math was incredible... then Mae, then Circa, then Discover America... Everyone here needs to listen to Mute Math

i am glad they did what they felt was right for them. very cool.
Yeah...I don't think them opening for Mae was for them either, that was one of the single most disappointing performances they put on....the first time I saw them, I was just in awe, like I have to see them again....and yeah.
yeah that realllllly was not a good tour for them to be on

i would yell at you for this, but you saw the tour in reno so i guess i have to take that into account.

i feel like i'd shit my pants if that happened. oh man. such a good lineup right there. i'm seeing fall of troy this saturday in providence. im so excited, from what ive heard from friends who have seen them, and from what ive seen on their video, its gonna be an intense show. i'm def gonna try to interview them for my radio show. just like i interviewed saosin this week. i posted about it earlier in the thread.
