Abandon Kansas; They're a smaller band on Ethos Records.

I'll be in the south in a few days, I just told em' that I wanted to see Silverstein/Norma Jean, then i'll be right out.

haha, like this past one in Augusta had a weak set (but they did get their act together towards the end)
and the shows they played with ETID and MCMB (weak set, but understandable cause of losing the drummer)

Seeing them is always fun but not always amazing, they should let me write their setlists and then they would be really good live. They haven't had an "amazing" show since before their newest album came out.

.... in my opinion

we never did figure out why that happened did we? hm...

and you would say that about any band. ha
first of all, it takes ALOT for a show to be honestly AMAZING to you. secondly, i love this band way more than you, so of course im going to be happy with pretty much any song they play -though i cant possibly doubt that your hopeful setlist would be fantastic.
that augusta show, i was soooo glad they played longer, if they would have seriously stopped when they originally thought they had to... i would have not been as happy as i was afterwards

well yeah.... except for: ETID and This Is Hell, their sets/performance is perfect every time.

Well since I go to so many shows it takes more for me to consider something "amazing", and especially since we have seen STYG like 15+ times and they practically never change their set (and when they do its usually for the worst). And honestly its not just about the set list, it is how they perform. There is a HUGE difference between the way they play now and the way they played a couple years ago. The frontman has a completely different attitude about the band now then what he used to, now he seems drunk during every performance and you know thats true and Im never impressed with that (except for Hour of the Wolf... that dude was hilarious).
And yeah I would have been extremely pissed if they had ended when they said they were gonna, that would have been unacceptable (especially for driving 3 hours and having to deal with some bitch in the back seat haha)

your such a douchebag. especially considering i was asleep the whole time ha
im not going to argue with you about that though, they could up on their performance for sure. but that doesnt change my reaction to the music. I dont know about the 'drunk' thing though.. I know he used to be straightedge but idk if he is anymore. I just assumed that he was worn out. [apparently if your awake for 24hrs, its the equivalent to having a BAC of .5 or .05. I know thats a big difference but i cant remember.. interesting though]
And for the record - you know you didnt have to mention ETID and This Is Hell. they're your favorite bands so OF COURSE your going to be amazed with their performance, b/c you love every song they play no matter what. that was my point earlier for me and stick to your guns. oh and you like ETID when they're drunk all the time too. but keith is hilarious and they do always put on quite the show ha

haha,i know you were asleep, im just kidding. I totally get that you love STYG, they are a good band, and they put on a good show, Im just saying there is a huge difference between the way they play now and the way they used to. When I saw them a couple of years ago I will admit it was the best hardcore show I had ever been to (at that time), they were "amazing", but ever since that show they have never had a performance even close to that. Yeah Im not sure if he is drunk or not, but that is just the way it seems now, Im pretty sure he is drunk [and it is has to be .05, you would be fucked if you had a BAC of .5, that is interesting though, you mean we can get the effects of doing alcohol but still be straight edge! awesome haha]
Yeah but I can admit when their performance is lacking (ETID at the Tabernacle, TIH at the Masquerade upstairs, mostly due to the venues though), plus performance wise they are usually perfect, they just are, plus their set lists always have a balance between their albums, which STYG doesn't (they nearly play through their new album in entirety). Again I wasn't saying they are a bad band Im just saying they don't put on an amazing performance every time, but it is always a performance worth going to.

And yeah kieth might be drunk but you can't really tell, that is just how he acts on stage and its entertaining, but the STYG dude is different, he just looks like he doesn't want to be there (it felt like he was trying to cut their set short last time)
And please don't tell me you are trying to say STYG > ETID

no im not saying styg is better, but they are definately one of those bands that im always stoked as fuck to see. and even if they dont have as wonderful stage presence as before, it doesnt neccesarily change my reaction to the songs ya know? same goes with other bands. Duh having good stage presence is way better than not.. I mean, it IS definately dissapointing when bands dont seem as into it as they should, but that doesnt mean im going to have a bad time ya dig? but for the record.. ETID is probably one of the best bands live to ever see. ever. [like i need to tell YOU that ha]
Stick To Your Guns really does need to play some more older songs - you're right about them playing almost all of their new cd the past like 2 times we've seen them, and i DO love the new songs but theres some old one's i have yet to hear that i really wanna. Their set has varied to an extent though, and of course i always enjoy it, but a few of the older ones they havent played in a long time would be nice

I have seen them way too many times to get excited about them, their shows are always hit or miss, and they play the same songs every time and it gets old. Plus their music is generic metalcore, only a couple songs really stand out. They are still fun though but more as an opening band, when headlining it is just not worth seeing them.

Yeah I get it, its basically the same with me, I can always get into a band whose songs I like and enjoy them live, but there are always those bands that just don't bring it live as well as they do on their recordings (primary example: Dr. Acula, A Girl A Gun A Ghost) and I notice it more, and for me STYG is one of those average bands, but its cool that you like them more then that. Its kinda the same thing for me with This Is Hell, for me they are amazing, best hardcore band (recorded and live) around, but there is probably no one (on here) that would agree with me.... (but i would like to consider it a fact that TIH>>>>>STYG, haha)
I used to always just be into the music and then get into a pit, but when watching bands like ETID, and noticing that there overall performance makes them better then anyone (plus their music is the best) then it gets me to judge bands harder and not just on their music (especially since we go to so many shows).

All STYG needs to do is to play older songs and then play only 5 (or less) of their best songs from the new record (Impact, Tonights Entertainment, Heartless, Accessory Children, Driving Force) and they would be gold.

Just got back from the stop in Sheridan. Stick To your Guns wasn't there, "family issues" or something. so they are no longer on the tour. MCMB were good, didn't get a set though.

Parkway Drive fucking KILLED it. They have someone filling in on drums so their set was a little short, but still amazing. I'm not 100% on the order but this is a complete set

Boneyards
Gimmie A D
Carrion
Guns For Show, Knives For A Pro
Feed Them To The Pigs
Smoke Em If Ya Got Em
Idols And Anchors
Dead Mans Chest
A Cold Day In Hell
The Sirens Song

Encore: Romance Is Dead

Cold Day in Hell was sent out to me and I got to help out since I was up front, couldn't have had a better fuckin' time

What! Are you serious? Is it the whole tour or just part of it (if you know)? That fucking sucks, this is the 2nd time that they are gonna miss Atlanta (and they were suppose to play with Parkway Drive last time too). Hopefully they can get through it and be back on the rode though.

Stick To Your Guns are most definitely back on the tour, and the tore it up at the Louisville date. This was easily the single craziest club show I've ever been to. Parkway played to a sold out crowd of about 250 and it was insane.

Parkway Drive set: (complete/in order)

Boneyards
Gimme A D
Idols and Anchors
Carrion
Guns For Show, Knives For A Pro
A Cold Day In Hell
Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em
Feed Them To The Pigs
Dead Man's Chest
The Siren's Song
------------
Romance Is Dead

Unfortunately, I am not the most knowledgeable about STYG's material, so for certain songs all I have are cryptic clues. Most of the songs I didn't know are most likely older songs.
Stick To Your Guns Set :(in order/99% sure it's complete)

We're What Separates The Heart From The Heartless
Fire With Fire? (something about fighting)
(song from Comes From The Heart, I want to say Accessory Children, but I'm not sure)
Impact
(supposedly a brand new song)
Tonight's Entertainment
(anti-racism song, forget the name)
Part of Me
There Is No I In Team? (lyrics about being above/high above/rising above something/someone)
This Is Where My Heart Lies or This Is More? (I heard "THIS IS.....*low growl* and everyone knew the words + mass stage rush)

I only caught the last song of MCMB, which was Headshot, but I don't doubt that they're using the same set they've used since Unbreakable came out, which goes something like:

Circle The Sky
Versus
On Wings Of Integrity
The Machinist
Boris The Blade
Headshot

They had a bunch of stage banter, but I was mostly chillin' in the back playing pool with Parkway Drive, so if they mentioned it, I missed it.
That and the little club I was at has pretty poor acoustics.

As for songs, STYG played what I assumed were old songs that I didn't know.

The last two times I saw them, they played Faithless. And they played a cover of Linkin Park's One Step Closer at Bamboozle Left, haha didn't play Circle the Sky though. And with Faithless, they did a little medley type thing and combined it with The Machinist. It was pretty sick.

That was me estimating their set after seeing them twice last year lol, both times as a supporting band, so they may have changed it up some.

That was me estimating their set after seeing them twice last year lol, both times as a supporting band, so they may have changed it up some.

Haha that's cool. I kinda guessed that, I saw them twice last year. And twice so far this year. They didn't play Faithless the first time, which was in the summer, but they did during The Soild State tour.

Went to this last night it was pretty fun, MCMB were good, but I have just seen them way too many times at this point, there performances don't change much, the linkin park cover was good though (2nd time I have seen them play that). Here is their set from what I remember:
On Wings of Integrity
Boris The Blade
Faithless
The Machinist
One Step Closer (Linkin Park cover)
Versus
Headshot

Stick to your guns did play and I probably had the most fun for them, they sounded good, I liked the sound of the new song, it was short but still pretty heavy, similar to the stuff off Comes From the Heart (I'd have to hear a recording to give a fair judgment though), looking forward to seeing how the new stuff turns out. The only bad part about the set is a fight broke out at the end of Impact, and they stopped before that last breakdown, kinda sucked. (this is the last show that they are playing on the tour, they are headed to europe) Here is the set, a pretty good mixture between old and new:
Heartless
For the Kids by the Kids
We look like ants from up here
Impact
New song
Tonights Entertainment
Colorblind
Part of Me
Poor mans poor sport
This is More

Parkway Drive were pretty good, I was kinda dissapointed at first cause the sound was really off, it didn't sound right at all but later on it got better. Performance wise though it was really good, I wish it was a different set but it was still good. Not 100% on the setlist but it is pretty much the same from the other stuff posted:
Boneyards
Gimmie AD
Idols and Anchors
Carrion
Feed them to the pigs
Dead Man's Chest
Guns For Pro Knives for Show
Sirens song

Encore: Romance is dead
