A Fall Farewell (http://www.afallfarewell.com)- Where Us Trouble Befalls, and The Secrecy Enthralls: So, I got this album from Rise Records this week, and it's damn good. A fusion of metal, hardcore, and melody, check them out November 1, when they release their debut. Also check out my review for it here (http://www.absolutepunk.net/reviews.php?action=viewarticle&artid=341).

Danger Doom (http://www.dangerdoom.com)- The Mouse and The Mask: What do you get when you add sweet beats to flawless flow, and add just a bit of Aqua Teen Hunger Force? You get this gem of an album from MF Doom and Danger Mouse. If you want some quality hip-hop and love Adult Swim, then check this album out. It's in stores now through Epitaph.

Anberlin (http://www.anberlin.com)- Never Take Friendship Personal: Although this album came out 9 months ago, it seems to be have been forgotten by many. One of the best releases of the year, it has beautiful vocals, catchy hooks, and great lyrics. Definitely spin this album this week.

Thin Dark Line (http://www.thindarkline.com)- The Resolution: I finally got around to listening to the latest concept album to come around this year. A very solid rock album, "The Resolution" mixes hard and mellow well. This album is out now through One Eleven Records.

Other recs
Since baseball is over, our favorite Fox shows return this week: New OC, new Family Guy, new American Dad.
"A Million Ways" by Ok Go is the best music video of 2005. Synchronized dance moves is always a hit.
Eat tons of Halloween candy on Monday.

The City on Film is remarkable. When I had dinner with Bob a while back he didn't seem to excited about it though, it seemed like "just something he was doing." He was fucking pumped about the new band he's forming though which is exciting.

So bad. I think they're more of a McTernan band than they are a Squire one, too, his production didn't totally fit them. He tries to make them out to be some sort of epic, creative, atmospheric band (like TREOS, who can at least pull it off halfway) on the record, but they just really don't have the chops for it. Not that this would be good with McTernan at the helms, but at least it would fit a niche and move some copies.

Dude, the man released a new EP this past Tuesday with Minus the Bear as his backing band (http://www.interpunk.com/item.cfm?Item=115825&). How do you -- not to mention everyone else -- not mention this?? I mean granted it may not count as news when the dude is releasing something every other month (quite literally), but my sarcasm aside, c'mon.

A Wilhelm Scream - Released my favorite hardcore album of the year. myspace (http://myspace.com/awilhelmscream)

Great band, great record, but, you know, they're not hardcore.

He was fucking pumped about the new band he's forming though which is exciting.

This excites me.
