June (http://junerock.com) have updated their website with a message that follows in a trend I want to see end:
Hey guys, if you haven't heard, we got a bunch of stuff stolen from our trailer in Des Moines,
Iowa a couple nights ago. A bunch of it was insured but some unfortunately couldn't be.
If you can help donate any money at all it would be greatly appreciated by all of us.
The money would be going towards a new drumset, broken equipment and clothes
(mark and my bags were stolen...that's all of my clothes and over half of mark's).
Thank you so much. We will be continuing to tour nonstop and hopefully will see you at the shows.

i was just thinking about that in the shower. i think if somehow whenever the trailer door opened, an arrow would shoot out. the band would know to not stand in front of it and to set up a blockade when getting in the trailer when people are around. just a thought...nothing like seeing a stealing piece of shit lying on the ground with an arrow through their body.

a bit of advise get the trailer backed up to a dumpster or at least to another car so you cant open it after you get your shit out at hotels and shady shows, keep you good shit out of view thats in the vans, bring all your valuable into the hotel with you, think about it 16 inches around...

This is starting to become waaaay too frequent. It seems like every week a different band gets stuff stolen from them. Kaddisfly. The Junior Varsity has had all sorts of shit happen to them. And now June. And they're all really good bands and really hard-working bands that basically live out of their van. Maybe labels should start looking into some sort of protection for their bands that go on tour?

It isnt a matter of learning, it is a matter of personlaly affording or getting a label to cover insuring their bands.

I say you have like two people sleep in the trailer and when they hear someone picking the locks they should slam into each side of the trailer and go "Help me, help me" and then the other go "Shut the fuck up before I kill you" and either two things will happen, the robbers will get creeped out and run or they will call the cops and try to play hero and if their still around, go "we own the van and these fuckers tried to break into it" It sounded much better in my head.

is there just a mob of robbers that collaborate together and say, "hey, lets follow this band to wherever they go and if other tours happen to cross our path, we'll rob them too." like what the fuck. or are there just some stupid fucks who think its cool to pick on hard working bands (who probably have more of a valuable, ambitious, productive life than they do since these dumbshits' weekly income relies on preying on helpless bands) and are just insecure and jealous?

just as a note, this seems to only happen in the midwest/east coast area...i haven't heard of any band except probably one or two i'm forgetting getting robbed on the west coast...(which means bands should spend more time touring here, eh? ;]) no for reals...i just think it's interesting that robbers on the east coast and in the midwest are more interested in band equipment than robbers on the west coast...

How about more locks and possibly locking the smaller items in the car/van that is towing the trailer since automobiles are tougher to get into than a trailer..and wear all of your clothes all the time. You might die from heat stroke and/or lose 50 pounds onstage but at least you'll still have possession of clean underwear and your iPod.
Just play shows till the sun comes up...

i cant speak for the east coast but i can the midwest(although im in idiana so i cant speak for iowa either but im willing to bet high its not much different).... and you have it pinned down pretty well there, white trash...theres quite a bit of it here...
