Check out a new Fall Out Boy (http://www.falloutboyrock.com) show review from the Nintendo Fusion Tour here (http://today.reuters.com/news/newsArticle.aspx?type=musicNews&storyID=2005-10-30T202110Z_01_MOL073232_RTRIDST_0_M USIC-MUSIC-FALLOUTBOY-DC.XML), and another here (http://www.livedaily.com/reviews/Live_Review_Fall_Out_Boy_in_Mesa_AZ -9029.html?t=98), and another here (http://www.azcentral.com/ent/music/articles/1027nintendoreview.html), and one last one here (http://music.ign.com/articles/659/659648p1.html) (with video).
"But they seemed to have overcome the problem by the time they started playing, because they sounded good, although they played heavily into the PG-rating of the whole event. The song it announced as its naughty sex song was really a sweet tale about a wedding night. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it began to show that these bands were almost too aware of their audiences to be genuine, which made the performance seemed streamlined and uneasy."
Oh the romaniticism in tearing up an ass.

"Starting the show was the Las Vegas dance-punk band Panic at the Disco. These well-dressed mods were the most out of place in the tour's lineup, but they still went out swinging and the crowd was climbing all over each other in no time."
Most out of place? So there were others out of place too, and they were the MOST? P!@td fit in the most. Boys Night Out was obviously the one that didn't fit in, if there had to be one.

Man I love how some people that do reviews don't know what they are talking about. It would be like me trying to review a presentation on post-keynsian economic theories. I wouldn't know what the hell was going on. It seems it is the same to some people. Perhaps knowledgeable and fans of more popular styles of music and not the brand of rock they went and saw. Some reviews are fair, unbiased and sometimes insightful. Other times they serve up a pile of words with the same aesthetic of cow manure.
pete says the same thing to every show. that's depressing, it's not special anymore.
oh yeah everyone in the audience that had been to the show the night before pretty much just quoted what they were saying word for word the whole night. it was stupid.

The Reuters one is about how I felt about the show. All four openers kicked the shit out of FOB.

does anyone get the feeling that fob's bass player really really really wants to be the lead singer?
oh another question....am i the only person on this planet that thinks panic at the disco sucks? this band is sooooo cliche....maybe i'm wrong....i guess i hate them for the same reasons i hate hawthorne heights....

the first three sets were the best ive seen lately. made the night worth it. and one of the stupidest things written in all those reviews was "...and a live show that's so aggressive it makes the Warped Tour look like Lilith Fair." I'd rather go to Warped than another FOB show. And would skip FOB to see another band at the same time while at Warped. I liked them Theyre getting old quick. The change in them from April to October exactly 6 months between shows plus two days amazed me.
these reviews are just the same, and give us shit at all, i like to read neutral reviews, but from someone that has some knowledge about band[s]

the reuters one is dead on. it's good to see an unbiased review of a scene novelty. you could take that review and staple it onto most "scene" band's live shows these days.
and if you disagree with me, is it because i have an opinion? or is it because you fail to see how generic and uninspired these bands are? (that was a serious question, seriously)
i don't disagree - actually i can't understand what You mean :] my broken english :D

"and a live show that's so aggressive it makes the Warped Tour look like Lilith Fair."
-Uh, what the fuck? I didn't go to warped tour this year, but please tell me that's not true. I've seen fall out boy live, and I doubt 15 year old girls are moshing to their music, and if they are, there's no way they are more aggressive than a Thrice or Thursday show or something.

I love how every time someone gives a negative opinion about FOB, the same damn people always come to their rescue and say something regarding the amount of posts the person has made (newbie?). Not to mention they love to give negative scene points.. like said FOB hater would really give two shits what they think. Pretty much, anyone who doesn't waste their life consuming upwards of 5,000 - 10,000 posts on this site has no appropriation to be dissing shit like FOB or whoever it may be. I find it to be quite amusing. and FOB ass kissers, you know who you are.
Nearly every competent show review agrees that FOB is getting their ass handed to them at every show by all four bands. Again, if they didn't have Hurley tearing shit up behind the kit, they'd be completely lost. All the spin kicks in the world don't make up for off key vocals and missed notes. They should take a cue from story of the year. Not the best music, but they are energetic as hell, spin kicks and all, and their performance is flawless. Although neither of them will ever be THE WHO!
.... and I don't think Pete necessarily wants to be the lead singer, just the main focus...... ALL THE TIME! I saw them on Fuse a couple days ago, and he kept interrupting everyone else in the band. It was so irritating.

Actually, in concert, Kenny sang a PG version of "Bedroom Talk". Something like, "I want to love you all night like we just got married"
Anyone remember the actual lyric?

are you kidding me????
hmm at ours he sang bedroom talk like it is on the cd. and added in the word fuck every chance he got. so i don't know about it being family friendly.
and even though fall out boy isn't great live, they're still alot better than they used to be. it was painful to listen to them last tour, but it really wasn't that bad when i saw them on the nft.
i'm not a fan of the new stuff, but i still love take this to your grave. alot of people on this site that are trashing them probably did too before they blew up...once they're on mtv they're not "cool" enough anymore.

Yes hacks. Platinum album, soon to be dual-chart topping singles, tour headlinging hacks that came from a small band that played shows for less than 100 people. Yes, everything about them screams hack.

"The games were standard Nintendo fare, mostly updates of characters like Mario and Zelda, as well as a few sports games. The most intriguing game, however, was the latest installment in the Spider-Man series, which puts Spidey back into the comic books with cartoon-like animation and movement."
That reviewer lost all credibility with me because of that. Unbelievable.

"It seems that Fall Out Boy has hit the pop lottery with "Sugar," which is nothing short of a smash single despite lacking the kind of strong hook or chorus normally associated with a radio staple. In fact, anyone in the crowd who might have been unfamiliar with the song would have been hard-pressed to pick it out as the breakout hit."
Is he joking? This song has such a strong chorus and it was obvious when this first came out that it was going to be a breakout hit. We all knew it. The Reuters review sucks, too.

"i want to see a circle mosh pit". WOW, THAT DOESN'T SOUND FORCED. tell pete to stop spending time at the 40/40 club and go to an ed gein show or something. all in all, for lack of a need to even be clever. fuck you, fall out boy.

if its one thing i can't stand, its bands that demand kids to "OPEN THIS SHIT UP" or "START A MOSH PIT" or "GET A CIRCLE PIT GOING." if your music was entertaining and you put on a good live show, kids would have no problem doing any/all of the above, even though 2/3 of it is gay cock rock shit. stop telling us to mosh. we don't want to. you smell bad.

I just turned off bright eyes "lifted..." to listen to panic at the disco for the first time.
I made a bad decision.
"It seems that Fall Out Boy has hit the pop lottery with "Sugar," which is nothing short of a smash single despite lacking the kind of strong hook or chorus normally associated with a radio staple."
Come on...even if you hate Fall Out Boy, you have to admit that "Sugar" is probably the catchiest song of the year. I really don't see how you can argue with that.

No, more what I meant was that a band that grows to what they are over 4-5 years or more probably has something special. Fewer and fewer bands stay together for years anymore, and to see one rise as FOB has speaks to more than being just "hacks" as was said.
More particularly with bands like FOB than with Ashley Simpson or the other singing heads, maintstream success does speak to something more as well. When you sing songs written by other people and have your voice made by some machine, all you need to be is pretty or have a hot sister. When you write your own songs/music, you need to have some talent.
I've tried writing lyrics/music, and its damn hard to do well.
