Posting the final two pieces of the 5 song album Dedications & Lullabies. i am going to refrain from posting the 5th peice. But only bc it is blatently religious and i dont want comments.. which makes me wonder why i even mentioned it...

We Will Yet Shine

~Verse~
Looking in your eyes, I see the world turned over
Upon your cheek the rain has washed away the tears
Dream of your laugh, the way it may change as you grow older
Another day has fallen prey, and soon loosing years
One thing I pray, you’ll remember how deeply I’m in love with you
The way my heart skips a beat when you call me to hold you
One thing I would ask of you, show your baby brother the whole truth
Our family was created in love but we couldn’t see it through

~Pre-Chorus A~
I dream of the day when we’ll call each other a family
Hold you when you cry and laugh through the good times
Help your brother grow strong, learning lessons of humility
Never dream too low and know you can’t ever dream too high

~Chorus~
Dry your tears, Dadda’s coming home to you
My breaking heart compels me, compels me to do this
Don’t be confused, your Mother and I love you boys
Oh God don’t let them believe this world of lies
Someday soon Dadda’s coming home, home to hold you

~Verse~
Seeing your face makes me wonder if you remember mine
Missing your first steps has just broken my heart
Every day is a brand new opportunity for you to shine
Your Dadda’s proud of all you do, just wish I could be a part
Of your life’s adventures, to lift you up when you’ve fallen
Teach you love for your brother; he’ll always be there for you
Your Mother’s done the best she could, no matter the roads taken
See the love in her eyes for you, therein lies the proof

~Pre-Chorus B~
I dream of the day when we’ll hold each other in our arms
Building memories of love to last for all time
Keep your Momma strong she’ll need your love to go on
In love we’ll be together and you can’t ever dream to high

~Chorus~
Dry your tears, Dadda’s coming home to you
My breaking heart compels me, compels me to do this
Don’t be confused, your Mother and I love you boys
Oh God don’t let them believe this world of lies

Dry your tears, Dadda’s coming home to you
My breaking heart compels me, compels me to do this
Don’t be confused, your Mother and I love you boys
Oh God don’t let them believe this world of lies
Someday soon Dadda’s coming home, home to hold you

For what it is, I can't really make any criticisms. Since it's dedicated to your kids, the simplicity is warranted. The title should be We Will Shine Yet, though, and the use of Dadda and Momma gets to be a little much. The end of the second pre-chorus doesn't quite make sense, either. I understand the repetition of the first pre-chorus, but the last bit about dreaming doesn't fit with the rest of the pre-chorus. Good luck with it.

yea it has to be pretty straight forward. dedications generally shud be i think. i think ur right with the title. i never liked the way it rolled off the tongue. i guess the whole Dadda thing is that that is wat they call me. so its more o a proper noun.. if that makes sense. maybe i didnt potray that very well. i was trying to make that line stand out more. but maybe i am just trying to put a powerful line in where it loses its boldness bc of lack of context.. i will work on this. thanx!
