I'm not totally against any of those...I grew up a Jazz fan, so the Pistol Pete and Karl Malone ones hit home hard, but they're pretty right. Malone was great, but he wasn't near as dominating alone as he was with Stockton (who I think is severely underrated even still). And Pete was a great player, fun to watch, but he was more of a streetballer than an NBA player at times, which is why he's not more famous in our generation as some of the other players of his day. Barkley and Ewing are spot on and the rest have decent arguments to support as well.

yea im not so sure the list is 100% right, alot of those players are overrated but not to the point that the little blurbs make them sound. i always thought barkley was overrated, and they're totally right about Gervin being one-dimensional

i'd agree with patrick ewing. he did get so much attention because of the spotlight in NY. if elton brand has played somewhere like NY, or in a basketball city that's not overshadowed by the lakers, he'd get the same attention that ewing did. but every year elton brand quitely puts up 20 and 10. Ewing isn't even in the top 10 centers of all time in my opinion.

Stockton was a dirty bitch. There was nothing more I would have loved than to see stockton malone wiped off the face of the planet. Totally agree on Ewing also. And I call BS on Robinson, he was a great player, and set the tone for the team play of the spurs today. I could make an argument for him being great on his leadership capabilities alone.

....what the fuck are you talking about? Stockton was one of the hardest working players in the NBA and got the least credit for it because he wasnt jumping from the foul line to dunk it on a regular basis. Even if you dont like him, which i cant see a reason for because hes one of those players that is such a smart talented player that most fans like him, you have to respect him. he was damn good and now when everyone talks about how amazing Kidd is it pisses me off because stockton was ten times the PG kidd is or was, and kidd is STILL a fantastic player.

Stockton slapped hands on offense. Every time he handled the ball it was a foul. And he carried like a mofo. He got away with it ALL THE TIME (I think he helped set it up for all the idiots that carry now). I do agree he is a great passer, a great player, and very hard working, but he did play dirty. Deny it if you want, go watch the video. I'm not saying other people don't, but he never got pinned for it and he was the pioneer of slapping defenders hands away. It should be an offensive foul. Best point guard ever, bob cousy, hands down.

stockton was dirty. and you're right so are alot of other players. but, if everyone was a 'clean' player, basketball could get pretty boring. stockton isnt the greatest pg of all time...but he's much better than bob cousy. i wouldnt even put cousy in the top five pg's of all time. first i'd put oscar robertson, career avg's of 25 ppg, 10 apg, and 8 rpg. no one will ever come close to those averages again, some still argue to this day that the big o was better than MJ. 2. jerry west, all i have to say with this is mr. clutch and he's the nba logo, he obviously represents something. 3. magic johnson, a 6'9 ppg?! are you kidding me. the best court vision possibly in the history of the game. 4. stockton, 10 straight seasons of at least 14 ppg and 10 apg, i dont need to say anything else.
walt frazier, dennis johnson, etc all better than cousy. how do you figure cousy belongs in this list? if were going just off championships...sure. but, the only reason cousy won those championships was because of a guy named bill russell, nobody else during that era could compete with him.

I picked cousy cause he was a floor leader, a pass first point guard. and a guy with alot of integrity. I wasn't thinking about robinson, you present a really good case, but I don't think those other guys took control of the floor like cousy did with the celtics. I think you're wrong about Russell being the only reason they one championchips (just my opinion). I definitely don't think Dennis Johnson is better than cousy. Maybe I'm jumped the gun in saying cousy was the best. ever..How about, Cousy set the standard for all point guards after him?....

i will agree that cousy set a standard for PG's. good point. the c's had alot of good players back then, kc jones, sam jones, russell...but i think russell was the most of that...haha dude has 22.5 rpg avg for his CAREER. haha nuts.

By the end of his career, he won't be underrated at all. And the fact that Ewing was in the spotlight shouldn't really make him overrated. I think that the fact that he was able to do what he did for his team is the reason why he is considered by many to be one of the better centers to ever play in the NBA.

people dont realize how dangerous brand is sadly. and if he never gets on a winning team, he will probably be over looked by alot of people. i still think ewing was over-rated. definately not one of the 'greatest to ever play in the nba' good...not great.
