I voted they suck. I like a few of their songs but not any entire albums. Imo one of their worst songs is the goddamn awful Desolation Row cover from Watchmen.

It was only done well by Bob Dylan.

It's usually a power struggle between Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge and The Black Parade for me, but I chose The Black Parade in the end because A) it has 95 plays on my iTunes in it's ENTIRETY since it's release in 2006, and B) I'm a sucker for concept albums.

I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love.

Oh, to be 15 again. I will always have a soft spot for that album. Eventhough I don't listen to it or MCR at all anymore haha. Oh well.

The Black Parade has the best songs and melodies, hands down. Three Cheers and Bullets may have been "unique", but just because they're unique doesn't always equal the better album (case in point: Panic, Pretty.Odd. >>> Fever, imo).

They've all been concept albums.

Bullets: Vampire Hunters (or something) they go and do they're shiz, then the girl dies (Demolition Lovers)
Three Cheers: Continuation of Bullets, the guy trying to save the girl from hell by killing some massive amount of people (Hang 'Em High)
Black Parade: Former Soldier(Nazi?) dies and travels through death making up for what he's done

This might not be completely correct, but this is what I've gathered from them.

You're saying Pretty Odd is better than Fever?!

Tsk tsk tsk

From what I've heard:

Bullets and Three Cheers started out as concept albums involving what you described but the stories were pretty much abandoned. There's still elements of them in certain songs, but the whole unifying concept was scrapped for the most part.

As far as The Black Parade goes, it's about someone who isn't liked by many people dying of cancer and going through the physical, mental, and emotional feelings of death while looking back on his life and who he's loved. In the end, we're led to believe he's accepted death, but one can take the interpretation of the video for Famous Last Words, in which the band, as death personified as the black parade, and their parade float is burning, to mean that The Patient has decided after looking back at his life that he's "not afraid to keep on living", even if it means he'll live alone. He fights the disease and judging from the burning parade imagery in the video, he wins.

...pretty much.

Ahh yeah I forgot he was called the patient. Good explanation :)

I said 'they suck', I've always said that. Plus they've always looked kind of stupid, and I judge books by the cover.

Well, it is. Their first album was really catchy (like herpes), but no more. Pretty. Odd. was actually a solid album.

very difficult to chose, but probably Three Cheers went together very well, wheras Black Parade didn't wuite make it.
THEY BOTH ROCK THOUGH.
Bullets was a bit too...idk unpolished.

"Early sunsets over monroeville" from Bullets is an awesome song. I like how hes all breathing heavy and his voice is cracking at the end. I had a tough time gettin into the rest of that album though. Voted for Revenge.

i love the old original album :] i brought you my bullets you brought me your love xx i love it it's so raw but shows just how much potential they have and you know that they are going to bloom in something so epic with more experiance. an album of hope and dreams which we now know are and can be fulfilled xox

I believe everyone agrees their first album is far worse than everything else they've released. Went with Three Cheers only because it's when I discovered them.

As much I like 3 cheers, I Brought you my Bullets is such an amazing album (granted the songs are all pretty long). "Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us" is by far one of my favorite songs of all time.

I think half the people here are disagreeing with this bc they play a different style of music now. Bullets is just a much more raw sounding MCR, but includes some of the best work.
