Why does it feel so good?
I hate when people say "God bless you," cause I don't like feeling that I have to say something when they sneeze.
Thoughts?

You enjoy sneezing? Alrighty then.
Also, what bothers me is that you say nothing when someone coughs. It feels like you should.

Glad I'm not alone on this. It's so old fashioned and out dated. Why should I feel obligated to say something when another person has a bodily function? They should be the one saying "excuse me" or something for sneezing in my presence.

Kind of related to this, but sometimes I can't tell if someone is coughing or sneezing and I don't know what to say. Like once, someone coughed and it sounded quite sneeze-like, so I said "bless you" and they got all defensive on me and said "actually, that was a cough not a sneeze" in a very condescending way, which was pretty rude. I mean, if I bless a total stranger they should at least appreciate the gesture. So now every time it sounds like someone sneezes, I'm still not sure from the previous experience, so I say nothing and then I feel like a jerk.
I just say excuse me when I sneeze

I hate people who sneeze quietly. There's this girl in one of my classes that makes a sound no louder than a whisper when she sneezes, it's crazy.

Sneezing has always annoyed me. I hate it when it builds up, but then it doesn't happen. That's the worst. "Bless you" is also annoying.
Yeah, not being able to sneeze is the worst, because you look like such a dumbass sucking in a bunch of air and preparing yourself and then trying to pretend like nothing happened when you can't sneeze.

There's a girl in one of my classes who always takes in a huge breath like she's going to have the biggest sneeze ever, and then it's this tiny, squeaky little noise. So annoying. But I also hate it when people blow their noses really loudly in front of me.

i've never understood why someone deserves to be blessed because they sneeze. it makes no sense to me so i never say it and i dont like when people say it to me.
i love how Milhouse on the simpsons explains it though. 'when you sneeze, its your soul trying to escape but saying 'bless you' crams it back in.'

I feel very relieved after the sneeze, but the process of the sneeze is rather uncomfortable. Sometimes when I have a quick double sneeze attack I sometimes think of how terrible it would be if I just kept uncontrollable sneezing to such an extreme extent that I never had the chance to even catch my breath, and then I usually wonder if it is possible to sneeze yourself to death and I realize that sneezing myself to death would be a terrible way to go out. It would be very uncomfortable and rather embarrassing. So I make it a point to bless someone when they sneeze, and I really appreciate it when people blesses me when I sneeze, but I dont expect them too.

I say bless you just because it's been racked into my brain since I was a kid.. even though I don't necessarily like the saying, I feel weird not saying something to the person who is sneezing. It's purely out of habit

sneezing is a huge part of my life. i do it everyday, i have low tolerance with allergens, animal dander, and plants. drives me crazy, i hate the actual sneeze itself but afterwards i feel better. it gets things out of my system, and i like to use sneezing as an icebreaker. people seem to be really concerned when i sneeze, probably because mine is very dramatic and loud. it can keep going for a while too.
i remember the first time my gf sneezed. it was the most piss weak excuse for a sneeze. i laughed
I know this kid who when he sneezes he does it at least six or seven times. Sometimes up to like fifteen. It's fucking comedic gold.

why do you hate that? That's how I sneeze. I'd rather be quiet and cute about it than sound like some gross freakshow who obviously needs attention since it's not hard to sneeze and not make a scene. Loud sneezes make me cringe.

Because for some of us, it actually is very hard to sneeze without making a scene... trust me, if I was able to sneeze no louder than a mouse, I would, but unfortunately, that's not going to happen.

It depends, a sneeze when you're not sick is awesome, but when you're sick and it's really strong, it hurts my throat really bad.
I don't mind the "bless you" thing. Maybe because I like the attention? haha
EDIT: What I really fucking hate is when girls to that fake little "petite" sneeze to cover it up. I know for a fact that's not how you sneeze. It doesn't make it any more attractive and sounds stupid.

Like the squeaky mouse sneezes or when they go "achoo oh my"
i hate sneezing because its impossible for me to simply sneeze once. when i sneeze its usually in a fit of no less than fifteen to twenty over the span of two minutes. i've broken blood vessels in my eye and sneezed up blood (didn't know it was possible) on multiple occassions. my nose is constantly raw during the end of winter/early spring.
fuck that.

I hate it when it builds up, but sneezing always feels pretty darn good, unless it's the kind of sneeze that grates the back of your airway. That sucks.

I enjoy a sneeze as long as there's nothing in my nose. The only nose related noise that bothers me is when people suck the snot back up every 30 seconds.

Isn't sneezing suppose to be the closest the body can get to death without dying? A teacher told me that...so here's my theory: Someone sneezed, people realized death may be afoot, and someone desided saying "bless you" would be appropriate. Maybe?
