Below is a show review from our user ScreamOutMyName. He/she attended the Allentown, PA date of the Saves the Day (www.savestheday.com) / Senses Fail (www.sensesfail.com) / The Early November (www.theearlynovember.net) / Emanuel (www.thisisemanuel.com) tour, on Halloween.

"The other night I was at the Crocodile Rock in Allentown, PA. Saves the Day played 2 new songs, called "The End" and "Dying Day." They put on a really good show. I can't wait to hear the rest of their cd. The Early November announced that their triple disc album would be released in the time frame of March 2006. They also have a fifth member who plays guitar. Senses Fail played very well also. They played "American Death," and as most of you know, the video for that is being released today. Emanuel was a really good opener... even though I would've liked to see Say Anything, Emanuel was a really good way to start the show.

And of course, for Halloween, the bands dressed accordingly.
Emanuel -was a five pack of some sort of alcoholic beverage
The Early November- Ace was what they called a fart, Joe was a nun, Sergio was a baby, Bill was a banana, and I couldn't see Jeff.
Saves the Day- Chris opened up with the national anthem, woodstock style... You guessed it, he was Jimi Hendrix. I'm pretty sure the other guitarist was supposed to be Dave Gilmour from Pink Floyd. Ghandi was rockin the bass, and Batman on drums.
Senses Fail- Buddy came out in a huge fat sumo wrestler suit and introduced himself as Yokozuna. Heath from Midtown was a sweet replacement, he was Darth Vader. Mike, the bassist, was a SWAT team member, the other guitarist was some sort of Samuri type thing and the drummer, Dan, was either a member of an 80's hair band or a ninja.

All in all, sweet show... very entertaining."

Jeff from the Early November was probably speed racer!! Ace was a whoopie cushion, so yes, he was a fart. The new guys name is Bill (he was the banana).

i was here too. saves the day was neato. as was ten. WHAT THE HELL IS WITH SENSES FAIL?? i guess it's the cool thing to hate on them, but they are horrible. the singer came out and tried to get the crowd going by saying "when i say fuck, you say yeah!!" i thought i was at some lame ozzy, ass-rock fest.

alas, ten and std made up for it. oh, and sergio (?) from ten was [presumably] drunk and kept yelling obscenities. when ace introduced the new guy, the drunk one told "a groupie weirdo" to "fuck him". everyone just looked at him. it was funny.

also, chris from std dressed up as jimi hendrix and came out playing the star spangled banner. pretty sweet. the bassist dressed up as gandhi and maintained a straight face the entire set, except for one smile. is he usually that sedated? it was pretty hilarious.

EDIT: effing senses fail close. so lame. although, saves the day probably played 10+ songs while senses fail played 6-7, plus a 2-song encore. give me a break.

This post would be better if you knew that Heath was playing with Senses Fail. And that the "new guy" in TEN is named Bill.

who closes the shows on tour? STD or Senses Fail? It better be Saves The Day!!!

Its a co-headline tour. They alternate closing bands. I saw the tour twice and once it was STD and the other time it was SF.

I attended this show but left after The Early November, because the venue was HORRIBLY oversold and you couldn;t move and alot of deuche bags were there and it wasn't fun, plus I had already seen this show at the Electric Factory I'm just pissed I wasted $22 for the show in Allentown... (The only reason I got tickets to both shows was because I was so excited to see Say Anything, needless to go on)

I get to see this show on Thursday. I am praying that Senses Fail closes that way I can watch my Saves The Day make fun of them for 2 or 3 songs and then leave.

oh, sort of like how Gerard from MCR does the 'fuck me!' 'fuck you!' thing with the crowd every single show. but everyone on this board thinks i'm a jackass for finding that lame, yet they all think it's lame for buddy to do it because Senses Fail is teh suxorz and MCR is saving indie-whiney bitch-punk scene. yes, they are both really mediocre bands that aren't saving rock and roll or changing the way anyone looks at anything. get over it. no offense to you personally, you just brought it up. man, i just got really pissed for no reason there. oh well. *POST*

So speak for yourself, Jason - TRUE TIL DEATH (that isn't the lamest thing I've heard in a real long time......)

Oh and PS - Say Anything is probably one of the greatest rock bands around these days. They also changed the way people look at things.

I was there as well.

Early November was very good! Last time I saw them they were sloppy and Ace's singing wasn't CD quality. This time the whole band was outstanding.

Saves the Day rocked. It made me really mad that I was surrounded in a wave of 14 year old kids going just to see Senses Fail.

THOSE SAME KIDS WERE SINGING ALONG TO "OHIO IS FOR LOVERS" WHEN IT WENT UP OVER THE PA.

After Saves the Day, at least 100 kids left. I hate Senses Fail, and all the music they make. It made me so happy.

and the drummer, Dan, was either a member of an 80's hair band or a ninja. That is an understandable mistake because 80's hair bands look like ninja's? I'm just kidding I know you probably can't remember. It is just funny because there is no relation between either of those costumes.

i went to this tour about a week ago, and senses fail managed to perform the worst set i've ever witnessed. The singer way off key all night, the bass drum was beaten to death, and the guitarist (heath from midtown i gather) was going off on crazy solo's, but they totally just added to the mess. There was no cohesion whatsoever. In a way, it sucked to sit thru their set, but it also would have sucked to know that they were actually headlining over STD (which I understand is happening, I just dont want to believe it).

its all based on record sales as to who goes on last at a tour.. I for one thought STD played amazing on hallowen.. I am from jersey but go to school in Kutztown and made the trip to Allentown for the show.. is that venue always that oversold guys? cause that was out of control at points

Define "around these days". Do you mean cancelling tours and releasing reissues of their only cd?

Also, it's pretty funny that you tell someone to speak for themselves, yet you yourself speak for "people" by saying that SA changed the way they look at "things". I hope that you never stop posting.

I've never seen the croc rock that packed.. and i hope i never do again.

TEN set list (the order's probably wrong, but I think these were all the songs)

Every Night's Another Story
Sesame Shmesame
Something That Produces Results
New Song
Baby Blue
I Want to Hear You Sad
Decoration
Mountain Range In My Living Room

oh, and the new guitar player is Bill (Ultra Bill) he used to be TEN's guitar tech, he's also in I Can Make A Mess.

STD Set List

Firefly
Holly Hox, Forget Me Nots
Anywhere With You
Rocks Tonic Juice Magin
Cars and Calories
Freakish
New Song #1
New Song #2
You Vandal
Shoulder to the Wheel
3 Miles Down
At Your Funeral

This isn't in the proper order, they did open with Firefly and close with At Your Funeral. Also, the only song I know off of In Reverie is Anywhere With You, I think they played 2 or 3 others though.

I was just a little pissed off that whoever wrote this review completely disregarded Garrett as "the other guitar player". When he really is probably them most talented in Senses Fail. Yeah, I know that's my opinion deal with it. Seriously, I saw them in Philly about two weeks ago, thank god I went to see TEN and not SF, because that was seriously one of the worst preformances ever. I used be a big SF fan, and they have severly gone down hill. And it really does make me sad.

Senses Fail=My definition of a guilty pleasure. They suck, alot. But I like to listen to them.

I saw the show in Cleveland tonight, and it was a blast. I was super impressed with Saves The Day. I've been listening to them for years, and I know alot of their songs, but I'm not as big a fan as lot of people there were, and I've never seen them live. Chris' emotion and conviction really got everyone going. He annunciated each word so raw, but so clearly. Even the songs I didn't know I really got into. The new stuff seems a lot more rock and roll, but still has a Saves The Day charm. I'm looking forward to their new album as well as Early November's triple disc. Who rocked face as always. I saw them at Bamboozle and I thought they retired "Every Night's Another Story"...?

worst i've seen it. you know those garage type doors on the sides? they usually raise them so people can go outside and still watch. what's dumb is they do that when there's half as many people there. eh whatever, they were just trying to cash in on the overpriced (IMO) ticket. at the time of purchase i didn't care too much about dropping $22 but after the fact, i felt ripped off.

thank you for helping me save my breath.

as for the signature i use: it is a concise way of saying "everything i do is for music. it's what i love the most, and what i care about enough to put my entire being in danger for. i will never give up or turn my back on it." that's it. if you can't respect that, then you don't deserve to be on any site, regardless of how lame and bitchy it is, trying to tell people what to think about music because that's what you think. so shut the fuck up about it already.

and for god's sake, is everyone here so immature that the only comment they can leave with the retarded negative scene points has to say "fuck off and die already". pretty intelligent and considerate of you with the events of the last couple weeks still fresh in everyone's mind. people really do die for this, and i'd be willing to if it came down to it. if your head is too far up your ass to understand that, and you want me to die because i don't like Say Anything, then so be it. it's your bad karma, not mine.

Hey I have a question for STD fans. What was the song called they played that's about stomping on a broken heart or something? That song was damn catchy, I want to hear it again.
