BUSH JOKES ABOUT HIS WHITE HOUSE TEAM LEAKING
Wed Nov 02 2005 10:58:31 ET

ROUNDTABLE INTERVIEW OF THE PRESIDENT
WITH FOREIGN PRINT MEDIA
The Roosevelt Room
November 1, 2005

With that, we'll start. Jorge, como yo.

Q Mr. President, in Argentina, you will have a bilateral meeting with President Kirchner.

THE PRESIDENT: Si.

Q What I want to know -- sources of the government told me that they would ask you about more cooperation on support for Argentina, you know, in the IMF fund --

THE PRESIDENT: IMF.

Q Exactly.

THE PRESIDENT: Please don't tell me that the government leaks secrets about conversations to the --

Q Well, I have my sources in the government.

THE PRESIDENT: You do? Okay, well I'm not going to ask you who they are, of course. (Laughter.)

Q No, please.

THE PRESIDENT: Inside joke here, for my team. (Laughter.)

One of his worst was right after Katrina during his little press conference he started joking about partying too hard in New Orleans. That was totally uncalled for.

i don't think he ever mentioned the CIA, nor is it treason.

Well, maybe it ain't treason, but it sure as hell goes a long way proving that he feels beyond reproach.

Think about it: His administration purposely exposed a CIA operative because they wanted to inflict retribution on someone for writing about the truth about Iraq's fictional WMD's. Is that somehow funny? Fuckin' republican's screamed at Clinton's crotch to the tune of 40 million dollars and yet, with the seriousness of this offence, they call it partisan politics.

Clinton let an intern suck his dick and Bush lied about going to war. Um, do we really have to debate which is worse? I think not.

First, no one has been implicated on who or even why her name was exposed. Second, what you call the truth isn't fact. I believe the Senate Intelligence Committee found that what he found was fabricated.

#1) whoever did it, even if it isnt any of Bush's associates, it's still wrong of him to make a joke about it. no? and i like how--even if Plame's husband had fabricated a story--you use that to justify the crime against her. all i see you do is criticize her as a person whereas instead you might be defending the administration itself.

#2) He made up his investigation? i havent heard that. but i do happen to know that the documents showing evidence in favor of the administration's claim to uranium is widely believed to be forged

I forget exactly but I think the person of "importance" that supposedly signed that document was either dead or no longer in power at the date of the supposed signing. How do you miss that?

I'm not justifying the crime (if it is a crime). There hasn't been any confirmation yet even if it was a crime, so saying so is jumping the gun. I've stated plenty of times before that if it's determined that it was a crime then whoever did it should see the full extent of the law.

The only criticizing I've done about her is the fact that she posed for Vanitey Fair.

Widely to believed to be forged by..............? It's just as widely believed to be true. The Butler investigation in Great Britian still stand by the claim after their investigation, and it doesnt help much that Wilson's report (read the link) has been dismissed as a reliable source. As the article states the question of whether Iraq attempted to buy this stuff in Africa is still up in the air.

These documents that you say are forged are what Wilson said. You bit into it but since then Wilson has said this about those documents, "Committee staff asked how the former ambassador could have come to the conclusion that the 'dates were wrong and the names were wrong' when he had never seen the CIA reports and had no knowledge of what names and dates were in the reports," the Senate panel said. Wilson told the panel he may have been confused and may have "misspoken" to reporters. The documents -- purported sales agreements between Niger and Iraq -- were not in U.S. hands until eight months after Wilson made his trip to Niger. "

And what is the CIA agent using her own highly secured position to further her own political agenda? Nothing?

That's something that's lost in this whole thing. Every person arguing "justice" and that Bush should fire Rove, etc....., etc........ Seems to forget the fact that Plame could (hasnt been determined either) have just as easily jeopardized intellignece by sending her husband (already a partisan figure) to investigate an important claim.

There's a two way street here, but a lot who simply want to see Bush go down refuse to look the other way.

I'm sorry, but who cares how you or I feel on the reasons why she sent him. You have about as much idea of her intentions as I do so speculation is no good. But what I do know.............if you have someone who is against an administration, and against the possible war..........you don't send them to investigate a very important intelligence issue. That should go without saying, it'd be like Tenet investigating the validity of pre-war intelligence.

yeah but Plame wasnt outed yet. CIA agents, whether they are in the field or are desk jockeys dont exactly make it known that they are CIA agents. Everyone knows that Wilson is very against this administration, he didnt hide it. So why did after his report was his wife suddenly outed as a CIA agent? seems a little sketchy to me.
