Just do yourself a favour and go here (http://www.purevolume.com/thegamits/music) and download "how to escape" ... this is one of the songs that stuck in my head for days ... the record was one of the most overlooked gems of this genre ... if you can imagine yourself liking a mixture of Kerplunk-era Green Day and Alkaline Trio (both just musically), this is for you ...

Just so you know it only includes all the song they released in the USA. One of their records was released in Italy and it doesn't include those songs.

I can't believe how many people don't know who these dudes are!!! Chris Fogal (singer/guitarist) is one of the most talented people I've ever met. I've seen these guys live about five times, and every time they blow my mind!!! I was more upset about the Gamits breaking up than I was about the Movielife breaking up...
The first time I saw Chris play he was touring with these other Colorado badasses, Pinhead Circus, and he played the most insane solo when they covered "Don't Tell Me You Love Me," you know, by Night Ranger. And, unlike a lot of guitar solos I've witnessed in a live environmet, he didn't turn his back to the crowd while he played it...he rocked it right in everyone's eyes...it was so rad!!!
Then I found out this gun-slinger formed his own band, the Gamits, and that they were destined to take over the world...which they did (in their own way). Anyway, the Gamits released one of the greatest records of all time, "Endorsed By You," a couple years after forming and changed my life forever. Their breakup is a profound loss to the musical community and, indeed, the world in general. But I heard something about Mr. Fogal maybe doing some solo stuff (which, the Gamits pretty much became when Fogal was the only original member as of a couple years ago), so that'll probably rule.
Everyone should go and pre-order this most definitive collection of awesome rock n' roll. You'll all thank me later!!!:ernaehrun:
they where pretty good and im sure Alternative press called their last album one of the best pop punk albums... i was at their last show and it was awsome.. and for 25 bucks its well worth it
shout out for these home town guys, I'm definetly buying this, I missed the last show by like one day when I came home for christmas last year (damn plane flights!).
sad thing is everyone labels them as a green day rip off cause chris' voice sounds so similar, but their last album was extremely catchy and quite original in my opinion. plus last of the mullets is one of the best rocking out songs ever.
its good to see other fans who appreciate them coming out of the woodwork.
I'm scared this will sell out before I can afford it.
wake up. Antidote was the best pop punk album of last year
for anyone that likes The Gamits, check out the band Vanilla Sky (www.purevolume.com/vanillasky) from Italy, u should like them.
ye, i like vanilla sky more, vinona rec. has few good italy bands, included vs, weren't the gamits there too? i know PRV promoted them, they're italians too
