That's fucking pathetic. He didn't do anything out there.
With this, I'll continue sticking to my story. Patriot dynasty = fixed by the NFL.

If any other player returned from a stroke, regardless of what team they were on, they would have gotten player of the week.
And its not like he didnt deserve it. He did have 44 hits and that has to count for something

I'm a Bills fan (I know, it's rough), so you can imagine how I felt about the espn announcers sunday night. I have a lot of respect for this guy coming back from what he did, but jesus h. christ, enough is enough.

No they wouldn't. If a player for the Cardinals or Texans came back from a stroke, you'd hardly hear about it.
And I hope that last sentence was just a joke. I know Bruschi had "44 hits", obviously 44 more than any other player. They had to create their own stat that night for him. Extremely pathetic.

Yea, the last sentence was a joke. Its completely absurd that they created a stat for him

he also had 6 tackles while taking part in only 34 plays. therefore almost 1/6 of the time he was out there he made a play. thats rather good. specially after being out for 8 months.

I saw 7 tackles on a stat sheet I read this morning. But yeah.

Yeah, I found that extremely retarded. Oh well.
The Pats won't win the Super Bowl again which is good.

He had two solo tackles, that's it. Do you know how many other AFC defensive players did that this weekend? Dozens. ESPN had 11 tackles during the game, but that was inflated and as incorrect as any Ray Lewis tackle stat they throw out there. He had one good play all night, and that was hitting a guy as he was dropping the ball. On that play where the Buffalo guy owned him and made him miss, they actually had the nerve to say, "Bruschi didn't make the tackle, but his leadership was excellent on that play." Then later, "I bet even Buffalo fans are cheering for Bruschi!" It was the worst broadcast ever. I thought I was watching the NE Patriot network for the game.

I think I speak for all Bills fans when I say that it was the most annoying (read: retarded) broadcast ever. Bruschi could do no wrong that night, that's for daim sure.
If the Bills weren't mildly retarded themselves they could have won that game. Sometimes I feel like they don't want to win. If only we had Bruschi, then we'd be unstoppable. I've been saying all year that we need a guy that can put some "hits" on the board. Fuck tackles. We need hits.

The ESPN guys are by far the worst announcers. ESPN needs to get smart and get rid of those dumbasses. They suck the cock so bad. I can't stand them.

ok i will agree with that. but espn is not the one to compile the stats. therefore espn is not the one to blame for the inflation.
and to say that ne is not to be feared is just retarded now. richard seymour is back for the front line and bruschi is still a force. the d will be back to decent and the o is still awesome. therefore, ne is still the team to beat. this can change after this week when they play indy.
now...i believe indy is the best of the best but until they can knock off ne then well they are still second in my book.

I can't imagine Elias or STATs INC. had anything to do with that pathetic broadcast. Plus the ABC/ESPN numbers are different from the official ones. Like I said, ABC/ESPN had Ray Lewis with 200 tackles last year, but if you look at nfl.com or another site they have a number closer to 150. Tackles aren't an official stat anyway.
NE is middle of the pack right now, if you ask me. It's pretty bad when you have to score 2 4th quarter TDs at home just to beat Buffalo.

That was weak, 7 tackles gets you player of the week? I don't care if the guy did come back from a stroke, how long ago was that stroke, last week?

That makes zero sense. Contrary to popular belief, dynasties hurt leagues. They're indicative of a loss of competetive balance, which decreases the uncertainty of outcome, causing attendence to drop, and league revenues to go down. They'd be sacrificing their oh-so-precious bottom line for one team to win a few Super Bowls, which is absurd, there is no way the other 31 owners and the commish would allow it.

I always thought they let them win after 9/11 to boost the national spirit

A perfect example of that is what the Yankees did to baseball in the late 90s, everyone knew they would win anyways, so attendance tanked, and the Blue Ribbon Panel discovered that the problem was a gap in competetive balance and that having the Yankees win/contend year in and year out was a big part of that.

Yeah, exactly. I saw Taglibue grinning with glee in an interview on how great it was to see the Patriots win the SB that year. Of course, you called for it, and the refs made it happen. Now we have to build up a new dynasty to commemorate this team.
