how the heck is this even a question?? EITS is one of the best bands in existence. Having said that, I do enjoy emery's first album, but they're not even the same style of music. EITS should have been up against a band like Moving Mountains or Mono instead.

Oh ffs, get over yourselves people. Such righteous indignation over something so completely subjective. Yes, EITS are a very prolific, emotive post-rock band. Super talented. However, that does not automatically equal "better." Maybe someone's criterion for judging "better" is how catchy a band's songs are. Maybe they're a sucker for good vocals. I will not deny how good EITS are, but I enjoy Emery far more, and it shows in how much I listen to them. So my vote is for Emery. Deal with it.

Sure, Emery may not have the delay pedal usage and pounding drums of EITS, but the emotion Toby and Devin convey with their voices and lyrics will always hit me harder than any exploding crescendo EITS comes up with. Just like in the Juliana Theory and Mars Volta thread, these two bands are simply so different that I think it's dumb to compare them based on "talent".
