Although I love the Beatles, I prefer Joe Cocker's version.

Beatles get props for writing it, but Joe Cocker really gave that song so much more and really made it his own, and I far prefer his version.

I know it's sacrilege to ever vote against the Beatles, but Cocker's version is just so damn good.

Love Crocker's verses but prefer The Beatles' chorus... went with the latter.

I sincerely hate anyone that says "Crocker".

I haven't heard the Cocker version. I'm guessing he takes out the words "get high"
Cocker's version does say "get high," but the way its sang, it's harder to make out. I can't believe you've never heard it! Never watched The Wonder Years? Youtube it. Now.

I know what it is but haven't watched it. Most likely its one of those shows thats only good if you grew up with it
Nah I don't think so. I've never met anyone who disliked the Wonder Years. I mean I did grow up with it but I still think you'd enjoy it. I'm trying to buy that show on DVD if/when it comes out.

That's a tough choice. The Beatles by default because Joe Cocker's cover couldn't exist without the original.

The Beatles version, easily

I think this is one of those rare times when the cover beats out the original, at least for me.
