Stealing the idea from another prominent webzine; I've decided to post a run-down of AP events that occurred over the past week each Friday. This will hopefully keep everyone up-to-date and help make sure you don't miss anything.
Contests:
Win an iPOD Nano from Yellowcard. (http://yellowcardrock.com/contests_absolutepunk.asp) New
Win Wireless Speakers and Headphones from Logitech. (http://www.doghouserecords.com/honorarylogitech/) New
Win an Xbox from Thrice. (http://www.totalassault.com/contests/?contest=00227)
Win a PSP, Skatedeck, and PSP case from Underoath. (http://www.absolutepunk.net/toothandnail)
All of our contests can be seen on the left hand side of the page in "The Hot Zone" module. Also, the new contests have graphics that you can see on the left hand side of the page, to draw attention to them of course.
The Leak:
We're streaming the first 4 songs off the new Fully Down album, with four new songs added each week. Check this module out on the right hand side of the page. (Note, users who have Norton Internet Suite with ad-blocker installed won't be able to see the right hand module because Norton completely screws up our HTML, please turn it off while viewing this page to view the website as it's supposed to be seen. If you really hate the ads, you can remove them (http://www.absolutepunk.net/index.php?sub=subscribe) for a small fee.)
Scene Reel:
Underneath the leak is this week's featured video; featuring our videographer Jon Lally on this year's Warped Tour. Look for this section to start getting more publicity as we premiere music videos, interviews, etc., in the near future.
Member Count:
We are closing in on 50,000 registered members (http://www.absolutepunk.net/memberlist.php). This is a huge milestone for us and I have a feeling it will be happening really soon.
The Orange Bands:
We have surpassed 4,000 orange bands (http://www.absolutepunk.net/andrew) sold, this is incredible. Make sure you get yours soon if you want one.
John Holohan Memorial Fund:
There is a small black banner at the bottom of "The Hot Zone" module that you can spread around the internet (and link to www.absolutepunk.net/bayside.htm (http://www.absolutepunk.net/bayside.htm)) to help spread the word about the memorial fund in place.
New Features:
We've added an "invite a friend (http://www.absolutepunk.net/index.php?sub=invite)" page, spiced up the journal pages (http://www.absolutepunk.net/journals), and made the user profiles (http://www.absolutepunk.net/profile.php?do=editprofile) even cooler. The "interactive drama" module (right hand side of the page) was also added giving users the chance to add polls (http://www.absolutepunk.net/forumdisplay.php?f=164) and vote in polls. Lastly, I've added a "sort news" feature for our news (bottom of the page under the last news post), click it to view all the news from your favorite bands. I still have a lot of ideas and new things to finish up and help make this webpage even better, so keep your eyes peeled.
Next Week:
Next week's goal is to show our staff how to get our featured downloads page flowing. I really want to see that section start to get filled up faster.
Hints:
Some of our modules' titles are clickable (interactive drama, featured downloads, recommendations, etc.) which will lead you to the archive page for these sections.
