I have Wasteland. Its pretty cool, I guess. It gets boring though. There's a classic mode, where you can play older levels with the old timed runs and "high score" "secret tape" challenges. The first level is Minneapolis from THPS1. It's awesome.

but THPS4 is just a classic. its amazing. its fucking brilliant.

maybe the levels aren't the sweet like in 3...but the gameplay is amazing. and all the secret places.

Classic mode sucks, those levels were phased out for a reason - they're poorly designed. American Wasteland pretty much sucked for a Tony Hawk game, it was ridiculously easy, even on sick mode.

For their time, yes. Looking at them now, god no. You can't even manual in THPS 1, and the first THPS in which you were rewarded at all for arial tricks was 3.

There's no bike levels to my knowledge. The bike riding doesn't really work like it did in Mat Hoffman. You actually have to do a few bike missions and I found them obnoxious.

No codes, San Francisco, there's a nice little loop in that little alcove by the run down train carriers on the right side of the map. :)

You just gotta special grind and manual every single time and alternnate 900s and Indy 900s every time you hit the pipes. Also, if you unlock Jango Fett, his Jango jump Jet move, if you rotate while you do it, can be worth up to 25,000 for an air trick. ;)

Haha. it takes a while to get used to it. 4 was actually the first Hawk that I owned and played a lot, so it took a bit to get adjusted, but that's part of the fun :)

I just doubt the responsiveness is the same, something that is crucial in Tony Hawk. I've played it on a computer before and the feel of the game is really foreign to me.

THPS 4 is my all time favorite game. period. It's hands down one of the best games I've ever played, especially since a lot of the goals were actually tough and it took me a while to finish, as opposed to every tony hawk game after it which I've been able to breeze through in two days.

With the games now pulling 2 mill point combos is nothing because its so easy to go from ramp to rails with manuals and reverbs (or whatever that move is off a ramp, forget). I rented thug 2 and beat it in less than 2 days :/

It's not "easy" to do 2 million point combos, it's far more evolved to be able to carry out a combo across an entire map, that's why the skating is better post-3. I said that's dumb reasoning for you because the difficulty in 4 matches the increased skating abilities. You make it seem like it's a "piece of cake" to rattle off million point combos, and I think that's bullshit.
