Well we are aware that Bush's administration and Fox News don't really like the frenchs. But it's not all the Americans so...

Haha, nah don't think it's specifically cailles, although theyre probably involved. I think its mainly french africans and ehtnic minorities living in the empoverished regions of Paris, and the other French cities it's happening in. It's due to the racism the French authorities - I know for a fact the French police have been known to be very racist especially in Paris. Here's another article http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4411192.stm - apparantly Sarkozy called the rioters racailles though..

If anything Americans are far more racist. Europeans are far more accepting of people from different nations since Europe is a continent of different countries, cultures and languages. I will admit there are some racial tensions between some countries, but none in a serious way. If there is anything Europeans are most racist towards it's the majority of the American population who think like you - arrogant.

What? I'm not gonna say one is better than the other but you arent backing anything up.

Europe in recent years has had some of the bloodiest racial and ethnic conflicts around that doesnt compare in the least bit to the US racist problems. All you have to do is go down the list of many european countries and you'd see that.

1.) Belaurs (between the locals and russians)
2.) Belgium (dutch and french)
3.) Latvia (russians)
4.) Ireland
5.) Croatia
6.) Romania
7.) Ukraine

and I'd bet I missed a couple places that have had conflict over the past 10-20 years. Perhaps the worst the US has seen as far a racial tensions in the past 10 or 20 years has been the LA Riots, I would guess.

The idea of Europe not being viewed as a racial place is laughable.

It always seems to me that Americans want to make themselves look better than everyone else by bringing our nations down. I have always viewed American as a nation that is very racist (if thats the right term to use), since if a nation is not complying to what they think it should be, they feel they have to enforce a change.

Also I do believe there is still racial tension between white Americans and races such as african americans and immigrants (cubans, mexicans) is there not?

It's not so much riots that is the problem, its hit-and-run arson. They just cant catch all these people (minors also) on scooters or cars who are driving round Molotov cocktail-ing everything in such an organised fashion. Theyve even drafted helicopters in, but apparantly they still cant catch them. Lots of the rioters have been detained though..

Yes there is still racism in America. I don't speak for the US, I speak for myself and I should not really be saying that about France. I despise racism, I think it's terrible. I'm really sorry guys for using strong language, I don't mean anything bad towards Europeans. I just know there are alot of hate crimes in Europe.

i dont know if its any more racist then the americans...but europe can be surprisingly racist. Holland was ridiculous in that aspect.

but yeah, we do understand alot more about cultures and we are on a whole more accepting.

Haha like I already stated I just got pissed off because he insulted Europeans and started coming to conclusions about racism in Europe that weren't entirely true. Talking of racism, I come from the UK, who are probably the most unaccepting of other European nations out of all the countries in Europe - something I'm not proud of, but yeah it does happen..
