The Silent Type (http://www.silenttype.net) - Go read my review on them..never has a band blown me so away. Wow.
Forgive Durden (http://www.forgivedurden.com) - Just really fun pop-punk and I love to support bands from the Northwest. Their new EP is going to be off the hinges, go to their myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/forgivedurden) and listen to "Beware of The Jub Jub Bird and Shun Frumious Bandersnatch" then stream more on their band site.
Armor For Sleep (http://www.armorforsleep.com) - Yeah I'm late on discovering how rad the new album What To Do When You Are Dead actually is. I'm feelin on "Stay on the Ground" and "The Truth About Heaven".

Alright they might not be pop punk but do we really need throw another type of music out there with "indie tech rock'? I'm starting to get real confused with all these labels, the less specific the better.

Seocndly, this is the first time I have ever posted my recommendations. But to make up for not mentioning every Bellingham area band in the past few years let me list them off and you all can go check them out.

indie tech rock. Yeah...im a complete retard. Forgive Durden is not pop-punk. Forgive Durden is progressive and experimental dance core punk. what the fuck....get over yourselves.

I don't know how serious this is, but if it is, you should probably calm down a little. Ad hominem will get you nowhere. I only brought up those 2 specific bands because they're very "under the radar" acts who both just recently released well-received -- for whoever actually did bother to listen -- full-lengths.

I've never even heard of the first 2 bands. As for Patent Pending, I was a pretty big fan of theirs when I was 16, and actually just changed out of a hoodie of theirs I rarely wear these days, but to use that as a metaphor, you kind of grow out of that type of juvenile ska-pop-punk quickly. They're good if you don't mind Vandals Jr.-type stuff like that but I can't imagine their upcoming stuff warranting repeat listens barring a major evolutionary change. They're all definitely hard-working guys though, so any success they receive is pretty well-deserved. I still get some enjoyment out of the Arrogant Sons of Bitches, who fall into that same gray area despite their noticably more ska-punk-oriented sound.
I'm pretty much all about our hardcore scene, anyways. Crime In Stereo, This Is Hell, Take My Chances, etc.; not much outside of it interests me. I don't like crust punk; I think there's a few barely-knowns somewhere around here. Bela Kiss is cool if you're into nü-metalcore, and there's a bunch of other stupid mosh bands like them, but really, the hardcore scene seems much more involved, loyal, and sincere than anything else going on here. Some more melodic punk bands (see: Latterman) would definitely be nice, since that scene seems all but dead here.
