We Need A Singer!

Hey guys, my "forming" band lives in Westfield, NJ. We're all 16-17 years old.
We all like the punk rock style, However, we want element to our band that will make us sound different than everyone else and slightly heavy.

btw., we have a drummer, a guitar player(myself) and a bassist right now.

General consensus of all New Jersey based melodic hardcore bands that aren't Lifetime or formed by members of Lifetime: "Lifetime got big doing it, so maybe we can too!"

Just like all of these shitty deathcore bands where I live think, "Suicide Silence got big doing it, and they're from here, so maybe we can too!"

By the way, I hope all goes well for your band and your search for a singer.

I'm saying because Lifetime is a New Jersey based melodic hardcore band, and thy're big, everyone seems to think if they imitate Lifetime's sound they too will be big. I'm not saying this is the case for your band, but that's the general idea most bands of that area and genre have. Just like where I live, Suicide Silence is a sort of local band, and they're pretty big for being a deathcore band, so all of these new bands in my area figure that if they copy Suicide Silence genre-wise that they too can be big.

And I don't see the point of me singing because I am a 14 year old kid, meaning I'm still going through puberty, and I live all the way in California. But I do wish you luck on finding a singer for your band. I'm currently doing the same because my band isn't making any new songs and the singer is blowing us off to get high and take ecstasy, so we're going to change our sound and get a new vocalist.
