We have new banners (http://www.absolutepunk.net/index.php?sub=banners) to for you to post around the internet (if you feel so inclined). We hope these will start invading the internet soon!

No kidding. Is that supposed to be paint or blood?

Either way...time for a new logo.

I hear that Rob Dobi kid is pretty good.

At this time, there's no way we'd be able to change our logo or name, we're too branded with them. So, we're stuck with it :P - o well, it could be worse.

And it's red splatters.. I don't know, it was some brush I had and felt like using 4 years ago and now use to add a little color to things.

You can keep the name, just get rid of the logo. You're not branded with anything. Coke does it all the time, all major brands reinvent themselves in order to stay relevant. Better to do it now than when you get even larger. And drop the "music mends broken hearts" too. I think the logo and motto actually hurt the website because people assume it is full of 12 year old girls. My friends will see what I am looking at and will be like "What the hell is wrong with you? Music mends broken hearts? With a broken heart?" Some of them listen to this "type" of music but wouldn't touch the site with a ten foot pole because of that. Stupid but true.

Coke has always used the same font. Yes, glass bottles are indeed outdated and they don't use the same colors on all of their products but they have not changed their logo.

Here is another brand the changes their logo all the time.

McDonalds.

Adding a McShitty to the menu doesn't mean they are reinventing themselves.

Tate's right, like it or not the logo and motto are intertwined with every aspect of this site.

Coke's logo has remained constant for many years, and you don't see "the" companies reinventing themselves you see the companies that want to be "the" companies doing it (just my thoughts on the matter).

On topic:
I agree the "motto" should be removed, and I see it being phased out in the next year; however, the logo will stay. It's just too much a part of the website .. and too many places have used it in conjunction with our name, it's a part of who we are. As you can see (from the banners) the motto isn't included .. I just haven't come up with anything to replace it with yet. I'm thinking if anything the red "blood" will be removed from our logo some day .. but for now, it adds a little color to it, and I don't mind 12 year old girls.

Edit: "Talk. Play. Write. Friends." - That's not to bad of a "motto/tagline" either now that I think about it..

As if this whole scene doesn't already know about this site.
Thanks for the compliment .. I just hope to reach out to new people (especially right now), I know there are new Fall Out Boy fans out there that are just itching to discover some new music .. I want to be the place that shows them their new favorite band.

im addin to my myspace music page :)You're amazing, thank you very much! It really means alot to me .. I have been in talks with some people at myspace and we're taking over www.myspace.com/absolutepunk (http://www.myspace.com/absolutepunk) (one of the old fake accounts I got control of) and I hope to run a pretty big myspace marketing push in the next few months .. really aim to expand a little more, be more proactive in my goal to bring new people in. These banners are just the start!

Thanks again everyone.

Not at all, I can make sure you get a very good deal. Email: heather@indieclick.com - tell her you're a small indie artist, and give her your budget and she has promised me she'll work with any smaller artist to make sure they can afford ads on this website. That was my one stipulation for giving ad-control over to them ....

I already overload my livejournal and myspace with banners, one more clearly won't hurt.

oh awesome well that works i have always been interested in what the costs and such were for this website since i've been visiting it since like it was like just a blink site. even though my register date isnt too old. But the 2k was for the myspace part haha. At least thats what i think it is. Thats what they mentioned for business to advertise on the front page or run a campaign. But im not sure. But thanks for the info!

Hmm, it's an interesting motto, but it doesn't sound ap at all. Although the older motto may sound cheesy, it is much easier to associate with absolutepunk, whether than the new one just being generalized about four common things. Just an opinion though.

Keep up the hard work though, it's easy to support when it's obvious that this is your passion. And best of luck when you launch bigger campaigns.
