Tortoise is a great band that I love that's been around for quite some time now. Making excellent instrumental music since 1990.
My favorite is "TNT" and the title track is one of my favorite songs.

oh doi it was right there. When I was 14 this 30 year old dude gave me a whole bunch of cds cuz he knew I liked Jawbreaker and Fugazi, he gave me that one but I never listened to it and lost it.
how good was that for a story?

Finally got their debut. Very solid.
I think "His Second Story Island" would have been a great opener though.

listening to Millions Now Living, it's absolutely incredible so far. "Glass Museum" is impacting me in a way on first listen that only my favorite songs have previously.

I'm not so emotional about it, but yeah, if I had to pick a song to give someone from that one, it'd be 'Glass Museum'. I should probably use running across this thread as an excuse to finally listen to TNT.

need to hear TNT. Millions Now Living is pure awesome, i love how they can open it with a 21 minute song and still hold my attention. "Djed" is just something else because they play with a lot of random noise and make it musical -- the instruments kind of aren't even the focus most the time so much as just straight up production, and that's cool. then out of nowhere they come up with this brilliantly catchy part in the middle/toward the end.

i have never heard better marimba/vibraphone usage than what i'm hearing on TNT. how the hell is this band so good, this is like early Broken Social Scene but even then twice as good as that
every song is showing me something fresh, and giving me a memorable, catchy riff at the same time. every instrument is impressive, there are no wasted or filler details whatsoever. there are seamless transitions between EVERY track. it's just perfect
EDIT: i've finished the album and these statements did not change. this really is a flawless record, i was entertained and impressed the entire time. or should i say, the McEntire time
