Smudge lay down a pretty full-on sound derived essentially from their twin-guitar line-up; it's a big dynamic onslaught that's further beefed-up by the hard-graftin',steam-rollerin' rhythm section - and still the impassioned vocals rise above the melee and soar out majestically!!

Smudge's nu-punk, or is it post-punk, rock is pretty awesome by any standards but their ability to create this wall-of-sound without losing a single part of it in the 'mortar' that holds it all together is outstanding. Their bold approach is made possible by the absolute belief in themselves and confidence in each other - they just let rip and each knows that the others will be right there in the frame doin' just the same.

'Where I Go At Night' is a three track EP that's just about as convincing as anything I've ever heard; tracks included are, 'The Thrill, The Ride', 'Speechless' and 'We Are The Night'. Smudge simply ram their electrifying rock'n'stroll straight down yer throat (metaphorically speaking of course - but d'ya get my drift anyway?!) and bugger the
consequences. The Smudge energy and dedication is fearsome and it's that commitment that allows them to thrash out their excellent songs with such unbridled passion and awesome power.

'Where I Go At Night' by Smudge is a massive EP, maybe not in quantity with just the three songs but certainly in quality - oh and turn this fucker right up as far as you can stand it - it's bigger and better the more dbs you give it!! 'Where I Go At Night' by Smudge is melodic, dramatic, anthemic and pretty majestic! 'Where I Go At Night' by Smudge is right up there with the 'big boys' - great stuff from a great band - watch out for Smudge!!!
