View Full Version : Who's gonna represent the NFC?
Drew Beringer

Well, since most of us probably agree that either the Colts, Broncos, or Steelers will represent the AFC in Super Bowl XL, who do you think will represent the NFC? It's such a wide open race, I'm interested in all of your thoughts.

I'm very biased but I'm going with the Giants their offense is so good and their defense has played better of late, not to mention their special teams is surprisingly good.
Nobody wants it. T.O.'s out for the year....
I voted for ATL, but maybe San Fran will put together a run...
HEY! i said maybe!

Right now I'm thinking Carolina.

I like Carolina. The running game isn't gaining the yardage it should be, but the big plays to Smith are there, and they pound it in the endzone. Great defense. They just need to try figuring out how to beat Michael Vick, as odd as that sounds.

A lot of it's going to depend on who gets home field advantage. If the Giants manage to get it they'll be tough to beat.

special teams was good last yr. they have a great returner in ponder and as close to a sure thing as you can get kicker in feeley.
but i dont think the giants will make it this yr. this is the panthers yr. steve smith is a freak and the d is just straight nasty.

being an eagles fan, it's tough to count them out after all i have seen them do over the past 5 years but i must admit, if the panthers stay healthy, and thats a big if, they could do damage...that said i don't see anyone beating the colts

real tough to hold cody picket down.
personally, I am an eagles fan and i think it is going to be carolina. they are on a roll right now and their offense buried the #1 def (tampa) in the league.
they have the top wr, a top rb, a decent qb, and a good defense. I think it really comes down to who gets home field advantage because no one seems to win big games on the road this year.

okay, there might be a little bias, but when Parcells figures out what kind of offense he wants, the Cowboys have one of the most potent balances of gameplay. i think they could take anybody when they're focused. Bledsoe is an amazing QB when he has the protection. Dallas is giving it to him. they just need to utilize it.

Panthers. They would have been there last year if not for injuries. Call me biased, but I don't think Atlanta or NY is going to beat them.

had to vote for my team...i don't believe it, but it would be blasphemy to vote for another team...that said, I think the Broncos have a better shot than the Steelers and if they can grab home field from the Colts, just as good a shot as they do.

seattle is very quietly playing the best football in the NFC, and shawn alexander is going to break a bunch of records this year.

They did shut out the Redskins a team that many people were saying was one of the best offenses in the league.

those people were ridiculously unrealistic. i hate washington, and got to watch them outplay the birds on sunday...their offense has slowly become more efficient, but is still not anywhere near as explosive as people are claiming.

I knew their offense was over rated coming in. But all of th "experts" were praising their offense and completely forgetting the fact that the Giants have one of the most balanced offenses in the league, and at that point were leading the league in points scored.

It's a bit weird for me to think that if the Giants don't do well in the playoffs it's because their defense isn't good enough. For as long as I can remember it's been the other way around.

The Panthers.
They're the best NFC team right now. They have experience, good defense, one of the best WRs in the league, decent QB (who can get the job done), and a good RB core.

seahawks could easily be 8-0 right now. first game jitters against jaguars then the missed field goal in final seconds of regulation against the red skins. shawn alexander is a beautiful man and deserves a new contract. gotta take notice that they have the #1 offense in the NFL with their top 2 recievers being injured. the 2005 seahawks are what they were suppose to be in 2004.

I'm sorry, but no way do the Giants make the Super Bowl. Not this year at least. They're a good team, but I don't see them getting past two very experienced teams in Atlanta and Carolina. No one is giving Seattle respect either. Alexander is the second best RB in the league.
My top 5 NFC Teams probably go like this:
1. Carolina
2. Atlanta
3. Seattle
4. NYG
5. Washington

Who's better than Alexander? LT? Compare their stats this year, Alexander is having a monster year.

still no love for the hawks. Seattle is good but i dont think they will win it all. Their schedule hasnt been too difficult and they always seem to blow it in the playoffs. I think overall they will have a good season with a good record but no ring. Just my opinion

If you put together their rushing and recieving numbers, Tomlinson has about 100 more total yards and one more touchdown, so I'd say it's pretty even at this point. LT also has three passing touchdowns, which really don't mean too much since they were trick plays, but still.

Atlanta - Easily the most well rounded team in the NFC
Seattle - Shaun Alexander is the closest player to a sure thing in the league
NY Giants - With a good pass defense, they would be amazing

Thank God. Anyways, top 2 teams in NFC are Carolina and Seattle. That's who I see in the NFC Championship. In the AFC, I have the Colts and the Steelers. No Broncos cause I can't trust Plummer.

i'm gonna stick with my preseason picks of indy and atlanta.
New York did great with the addition of Burress. He is easily their mvp so far. Im still not Completely sold on them yet, we'll see what the second half has in store for them.
I can't trust Carolina because my Dolphins beat them. I don't care that it was only a 3 point loss, it's still a loss.

Not really...Hasselback is a great quarterback, he's been consistent for quite some time now. Even with hurt recievers, the Hawks have still burned teams through the air.
