haha cant sleep thinking about crazy draft day moves. post a ridiculous one from each year starting with 96.

96 - kobe being traded for vlade
97 - tracy mcgrady being the 9th pick(mercer, foyle, and others picked before him)
98 - bucks trading dirk and pat garrity to the mavs for tractor trailor hahahaha
99 - manu was the 57th pick that year, yeah, next to last.
00 - michael redd being the 44th pick. scoonie penn was picked too, never made it. penn and redd.
01 - kwame brown
02 - amare going ninth
03 - darko
04 - sonics drafting robert swift, a waste
05 - suns trading nate rob...dumb dumb move. nate rob's not gonna be a superstar...but he's going to be a great role player for years to come.

My personal two favorite draft day trades were mutually beneficial, with the Antawn Jamison for Vince Carter trade and the Ray Allen for Stephon Marbury trade. My personal choice for weakest draft day manuever was Steve Francis essentially holding the Grizzlies ransom and making them trade him to the Rockets, but his face when he was drafted by the Grizz - GOLD!

Oh yeah, and if we're going for examples like Amare going Ninth, how about Michael Jordan going 3rd! Tragic! Ralph Sampson was not worth it Rockets! Imagine how many Championships the Dream and MJ would have won?

it was sam bowie picked before jordan, not sampson...sampson was the overall pick the previous year. it's pretty funny, but the teams were drafting what they needed.

Wow I dropped the ball on that one didn't I. I know they were drafting what they needed, but still, it's the same ball park as the Milicic thing. The Pistons didn't need a Small Forward or a Two Guard, but they catch shit for getting Darko and not Carmelo or Dwyane Wade. Sometimes, when someone truly exhibits special skills, you have to take them.
