Fall Out Boy (www.falloutboyrock.com) performed 5 exclusive live songs in the Stripped studios by the Stripped studios, including a cover of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart." You can check out an exclusive interview, audio, video, and photos of the band at StrippedMusic.com (http://www2.fanscape.com/falloutboy/3p/stripped.aspx).

haha, this was posted before.
at least they admit that they aren't that tight live.
and it was really just a patrick stump cover of joy division, no one else was involved...

yeah, this was up a couple of days ago.
but they're not as bad as everyone makes them out to be either. it was definitely better than any live performance they've ever had otherwise... except Carson, on which i thought they were rather good, Dance Dance (http://www.idobi.com/media.wml?vid=30338) and Sugar (http://www.idobi.com/media.wml?vid=30339).

Did they ever show an episode of 'Dinosors' where the meteor hit and they were all whipped out by the onset of fire, climate change and a dust that consumed all light and kickstarted the ice age?

Because I would have liked to see that and I'm gonna be bummed out if I missed it

I live in the the united kingdom dude...we didn't get the bible until it got made popular by that Mel Gibson movie...not BraveHeart or Lethal weapon (although those movies are actually good).

i havn't been here in a while, so this is the first time i've seen this, but last time i checked "where is your boy" is called grand theft autumn, i'm sure you all know that, it may even be posted in the other 9 threads, i just thought i'd say that. I'm loosing respect for this band everyday, it's starting to get negative. I know they wrote in their little journal the whole "we never changed" etc. but it's getting rediculous. (sorry, I can'y spell that word)

Last time you checked, you should've got your eyes checked. It's called: Grand Theft Autumn (Where is Your Boy).

I'm loosing respect for this band everyday,
Why? And why would you post that in a thread about a set they put on?

it's starting to get negative.
Because they're popular? On a major label? Sell out shows? Make music people like? Shut the fuck up.

I know they wrote in their little journal the whole "we never changed" etc. but it's getting rediculous. (sorry, I can'y spell that word)
Wow, you hang out with the guys in Fall Out Boy? How have they changed? I'm curious.

thats fine and all...thats how you feel and im not gonna tell you you're wrong.

but honestly the only way they have changed is they are much more sure of themselves on stage and in front of the camera...ive heard very few negative stories from fans. everyone has their times, no ones perfect so sometime there are negative encounters but there are very few that ive heard about fall out boy

i understand how some people just dont like how things are going for this band. while i personallythink its dumb to start hating on this band just cuz they are popular, some honestly feel it sucks and thats fine, if you feel that way then fine. im not gonna try to argue about it with you. i just felt the need to put my opinion in after you said something about the whole "we'll never change" attitudes

YOU ARE THE ONE WHO BROUGHT IT UP. It's obviously a big enough deal to you to try and correct someone. And then when the tables get turned, you shrug it off and try to make fun of me for doing EXACTLY what you were doing.

You're the one who got the name of the song wrong. And why the hell would you throw Fall Out Boy in with Kelly Clarkson?? I don't feel I'm wasting my time setting someone of low intelligence straight. The fact is if you didn't care, you wouldn't have posted any of these posts or come up with the lamest insult I've EVER read: "oh, and you have a xanga so you obviously know what a journal is, did you read their's? frank posted it here a while ago." lostntheseethru (http://www.absolutepunk.net/member.php?u=20751) my post was directed towards lpmagic, your post was good. but the basis of her argument was on critisising me for not liking them. I'm losing respect because their music is deteriorating. I never liked the new album, not befor it came out, not when it came out, and especially not now after everyone has blown it up. He doesn't articulate at all. i understand that is a "style." but the first couple times i heard sugar we're going down, i thought it was a song for them sims 2. i just watched the stripped performance and he mumbles his way through every song. although when i was in highschool i did have a tendency to throw bands away when other people started to like them, but now i just don't care. i still like blink 182 (i dont like the last album, but i respect it). i still like TBS brand new, starting line, all of those bands that got me into what i'm listening to now. but when from under the cork tree came out, all the reviews were negative. i totally agreed with them, and put the album away. now after skimming through the radio, mtv and other media sources it just irratates me. i dont know where i'm trying to get at.

i was referring to this post which was posted on here a while ago... not that i followed their journal throughout their career, honestly, i dont care about them that much, but i guess i'm not just going to sit here and have you jump all over me when i agree with alot of the things you have to say. but what do you want from me? i'm not going to like them, you do, so lets "end this conversation"

"hey. things havebeen kind of hectic lately.

i just wanted to let you guys know my opinion on whats going on with FOB and all.

"we're the kids you used to love, then we grew old"

first of all, with us being on TRL and all. i have loved bands growing up- there are so many bands that i kept in my back pocket and began hating them when they grew up and got bigger. at first i told everyone i knew "i cant believe you havent heard of savestheday/lifetime/quicksand" then when i started seeing kids wearing the shirts and other kids at my school (that i didnt think were as cool as me) started talking about them- they stopped being cool to me, they stopped being my secret. being a part of this band has changed everything for me. when i was younger and i saw axl rose walk off the bus in the "welcome to the jungle video" i was like holy fuck- i want to be him. you have to believe me when i tell you this band was never supposed to get where it has- those who were there in the beginning know that- we were terrible, it was just something fun for us to do (if you dont believe me go try and find our demo and listen to it). but before we are in a band- WE ARE FANS OF MUSIC. most of the music out there on trl or the radio is complete shit to me- thats why when bands like: blink, new found, thursday, or taking back sunday get played or are on TRL- i loved it. id rather see a tbs or nfg video than a little jon or mariah carrey one any day of the week, and hopefully a couple of you feel that way about "sugar we're going down". they represent sincere music to me. it was like they were the flag that represented our scene and what we were doing- and everything we believed in. it made me smile to see- i have met and or am friends with all of those bands and they are doing it for the right reasons.

that being said, we want to be out there at the forefront of it- representing our scene, representing the people who have always believed in us. i understand that growing pains suck and sometimes it's hard to deal with. but we will always be the same boring kids from the suburbs of chicago. we have NEVER played their game. we do what we want. when they tried to get us to shoot a video with "a swimming pool party, with hot girls and punk oriented kids dancing" we said FUCK NO, that was not fob. When they asked us to do a mall tour we said FUCK NO that is not fob. We've been asked out by countless bands that we don't respect (for how they treat their fans or how they portray themselves) and we've turned it down, even if it would have made us much bigger. We've been offered sponsorships by companies that we do not agree with and we've turned them down even though they offered us alot of money. this is what we believe in. we (you and us) own these songs and we wont let them be cheapened by shit like that. the only reason MTV is interested in playing a video as weird as antler boy is because you guys bought the hell out of the record the first week. that is all real. i sometimes pinch myself, cause it's so unbelievable. bands always say "we're not gonna change"- but the proof is in the pudding, come and find me on warped tour- we're ready to prove the wrong.

no matter what happens fob has always been blood, sweat, gas, tears, fights and love. it is our rushmore. it is what we want to be remembered for. thank you so much for what you give us. if it means half that much for you help us out and vote on trl (on the news page). if it doesn't at least maybe this will explain our thinking. who would have ever thought you would be able to see an FOB video on tv?

as ive gotten older ive realized that noone is born cool- everyone has some deep dark secret- a band that got them into it all- for me those bands are like defleppard and metallica- for others i am sure they are bands that people would call cheesy or whatever- but hopefully these bands open the door for you to check out other bands that you might not have heard of otherwise. so when i go on our messageboard and see someone asking a question and see an og fob fan say "why dont you fucking know that" or "check the fucking thread below" or "shut up" or whatever it makes me feel like shit. imagine if we treated newbie bands like that, some of you never would have heard of the academy is or gym class heroes (even though both of these bands are so great they would have gotten there eventually)... so please try and be understanding- we love our oldest fans, you mean so much- and we'll always have cool stuff like the secret order of fob and secret shows, so don't worry.

anyway. i'm rambling and this probably doesnt make much sense. but ive been there before and just kinda wanted to explain some of my/our thoughts.

last night i saw my world explode."

Patrick has an amazing, full voice and is what makes fall out boy stand out, even with their pretty-generic sound. However, pete is a complete douche-bag who wants to be the stand-out person of the band even tho he has no music talent, aside from writing okay, lyrics filled with a high dynamic of cheese-factor. The one thing that is gaurenteed to ruin any fall out boy song is that stupid scream thing that pete thinks is the "shit, yo." Dear god, didn't we all get sick of that trend after the whole Finch fiasco of three years ago. Remember when even bands like the startingline tried to be cool too and put those scream things in their songs. Oh, good times. Fall out Boy, kick pete out. Patrick, write your own songs and you guys will be the best Simpsons character since Hans Moleman.

patrick should really do a solo project. he is far more talented than anyone else in that band. that's not a knock on the other members, patrick is just that good.
