Every time I start a thread on one of my favorite power pop bands, it sinks to the bottom completely unnoticed, and all my bumps don't help.

Not to mention the constant misuse of the phrase "power pop" is annoying.

Cheap Trick were one of THE defining bands of power pop for the 70's and 80's. They rocked a bit harder than some of their contemporaries, but all the pop elements were still there.

And if you think power pop is a bad thing, let me say this..... Power pop =/= stupid scene/wannabe emo crap with cutesy lyrics and drum machines and synths. Power pop = Beatleseque melodies, catchy choruses, British invasion styled tones and arrangements, and loud crunchy guitars with the energy of punk and hard rock. Check out any of the above bands and forget that Boys Like Girls exist.
