View Full Version : *whispers* The Jonas Brothers

Okay so I know it's kind of voodoo too mention Disney Channel kids on here but I have to say this:

I was one of the millions who were plotting the death of The Jonas Brothers. But then I read an interview with Nick Jonas in the Rolling Stone - it was a transcription of Nick talking to his hero Elvis Costello.

I gotta stick up for the kid - I didn't even realise that he actually wrote music. I thought it was all completely churned out by folks at Disney - but apparently not. And Nick seemed nice too: really down to earth and just another music lover like you and I.

Anyway, feel free to use this thread to bash or advocate the Jonas Brothers or just Nick Jonas, I just wanted to get to give those kids a bit of slack within the music community for once.

That stupid "Love Bug" song is damn catchy. I had it stuck in my head when it first came out.

I read that article with him talking to Elvis Costello (it came out a while ago, so late pass). He really does like him and he even named his dog Elvis. They came to the Main Event over here (since their house is close to where I live) and I saw them. I just yelled "I heard you like Elvis Costello" and he nodded in agreement.

For all the crap they get, they write some catchy pop music. More than I can say for a lot other mainstream pop acts.

lol in the above article it mentions that he writes some music though. Oh well, either way, it isn't as bad as brokencyde or millionaires or any other nameless trend grabbing whorebands. Not that I like them, but they are not terrible.

i dont hate their music. i dont listen to it, its not my kind of music, but there is worse stuff. I just hate how gimmicky Disney makes them with their whole chastity rings and things like that. I want some pictures to leak online of them drinking or something haha.

Is that like how Ashlee Simpson said she writes her songs too? lol

They wrote their entire album with the exception of 2 songs which they have a co-writer, (and "Burnin' Up" was not one that they had help on). They're talented, they just have a super shitty image.

They also said that one of their biggest influances is blink 182. But they hate the band itself.

They LOVEEEE name dropping people... And so what if they write it? A ten year old can write the way they do.

They're smart, great kids that write their own music and lyrics to awesome, catchy pop songs. No shame.

I support this post.

Were I Elvis Costello I would be ashamed to be the hero of a Jonas.

Sure, they may be name droppers, but what real music lover isn't? It'd be hard to drop so many names if it was contrived.

So do they take off their purity rings when they're having underaged, pre-marital sex or is it some kind of ironic joke to keep them on?

Oops your facts are a bit out of line: underaged, pre-marital sex in a bathroom with their fans they met on MySpace.

I dislike their music, but they don't act like total douches and I just don't really feel the need to bash them. And I would listen to them over Soulja Boy and all the "crunk core" acts anyday
