Underoath (http://www.underoath777.com) are set to hit the studio to work on their new album with Adam Dutkiewicz of Killswitch Engage fame and Matt Goldman (The Chariot, Copeland) behind the boards. More on that can be found in an update on the band's website.

Cant wait...That song they played on tour was really good. Harder, without completely abandoning the poppy-er feel of the last record.

I know its a long shot, but did anyone by chance record it?

Dutkiewicz's production on Norma Jean's Bless The Martyr... is amazing. I'm really interested in seeing what kind of tones these guys go for when working together.

matt goldman was at their show tonight in atlanta. he even bought a t-shirt! what a cool fella! anyone ever listened to matt's band Unicorns! The Musical??? Check them out at http://www.myspace.com/unicornsthemusical. I would be interested to see what people here at AP think of it.

that and the re-release.

Well, I don't think the band had any say in the reissue. That was all Solid State / Tooth & Nail's doing most likely.

what happened to matt bayles producing the album?

True. That would've been cool to hear results from work with that dude.

shit, i had no clue he was producing, i thought it was matt bayles. either way, i think both norma jean records have above-par production, and both sound great.

you dont even know all the facts. and its just mtv, not trl or something. besides, even though it is really cool them playing back to back shows, i think it makes sense they chose to go with mtv, for the exposure and whatnot. not too mention thrice had to have had their opinion in on this too.

I really can't wait for this. I loved their last two albums. Not a huge fan of the earlier ones, 'cause I'm not really into the more hardcore stuff. Anyways, I really can't wait for this to come out.

in the DVD Tim the guitar player made a good point, he said, we always change from record to record. He said, it's a new record it's supposed to be different, otherwise we end up making the same record twice and just get left behind and washed away. I think that makes a pretty valid point. It's worth it to lose a couple "old" fans just to keep writing fresh music. He said, you'll probably have to listen to the whole cd, the entire way through 3 times and take it all, in before you finally understand it and can make a judgement on whether you like it or not.

I never said it was for trl. in fact i did just say mtv. no matter, they dropped off a date, announcing it 4 days before because apparently a last minute filming for MTV is more important than playing a show they scheduled months in advance, even if it was a back to back show. The same goes for Thrice, as I would have never expected something like that from them.

Well judging by August Burns Red's newest release Adam D. definitely knows his shit. Can't wait to hear what comes of this disc, I think it's gonna be a great one. and speaking of which, if you like metal / hardcore and haven't picked up August Burns Red's Thrill Seeker yet do it. you won't be let down.

ah, i'm not uppset. I wasn't even going to go to the show. I'm a little dissapointed that they would stoop that low for an MTV filming. It's true that most bands would do that, and thats disheartening. I'm sure you would be pissed if they did that on date around where you live.

I have to say that the live performances on the dvd arent a good representation of their live shows. Spencers vocals definitely sounded off, but maybe it was just the production of the whole thing. I've seen them three times in the last 7 months and they were amazing and got better each time. Their show at the underground in hamilton was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend going to see them live, because the live portion of the dvd doesnt do them justice.
