It's very possible this team could have the #1 pick, and Aaron Rodgers was just a low 1st round pick, nothing hard to get rid. If you have a chance at a guy that will probably be ranked as high as a Peyton Manning, then you'd have to be a moron to pass on him. Only other guy they'd take that I'd see as reasonable at #1 would be Reggie Bush, because of Green's injuries and age.

Other teams that could be in contention for #1 are

San Fran - Alex Smith, #1
Houston - David Carr, #1
Cleveland - who seem to think Charlie Frye is the answer
NY Jets - depending on how Bollinger does the rest of the year, but Pennington's career is likely over...
Tennessee - McNair's pretty beat up and if I remember correctly, Billy Volek is over 30.
Baltimore - we'll see how they do with Kyle Boller back, but chances are they'll still be bad
New Orleans - Aaron Brooks is inconsistent, but they won't draft a QB.

I'd like to think Favre's got one more season in him if he can get some decent support next year.

After that I think Rodgers and Bush would be an excellent combination.

Although I HATE USC with a passion, I definately think Reggie Bush should go before Leinart. I think Bush has the potential to be great.

I would take Bush with my #1 pick. I have not seen anyone like him in a long time. He is something special

I don't even think the Packers will end up with the first pick. They'll get the second or third.

I have my doubts about Leinart being a great NFL QB. I think that he could be a decent starter in the league, but not up to Peyton Manning level of play.

Reggie Bush is phenominal in college, but everytime I see him I think Dante Hall mixed in with a little bit of Bryant Westbrook.

I am not too high on either one. But there is still plenty of time before the draft to form a better opinion of them.

In my opinion Leinarts not too good to pass up, hell be a good quarterback but hes not going to be an al tim egreat or anything so i could easily see a team like the packers who had just invested in a young quarterback and taking a differnt player such as bush

I think it'll be more interesting if the Texans get the first pick. Dave Carr has been somewhat of a bust since they took him number 1. I think that could create more controversey than the Pack having the first pick.

I'm still undecided on whether Brett is going to call it quits this year

But, he did sit out of practice today or yesterday because he felt "lethargic"

favre's a legend, and the pack isn't giving him what he needs to win games-- they're being stupid for the current state, and are just trying to build for life after brett, which is a dumb move.

GB is committed to Rodgers. Same with Houston and Carr and SF and Smith. Leinart won't go #1 if either of those teams have the pick because it doesn't look like theres any consensus #1 talent ..but if it's Arizona (it won't be Cleveland) I could see them going with Leinart. Otherwise, #1 will probably go to a team looking to fill a need with the best player available at that position (or they'll trade it away to someone who over-values the talent at the top).

i think the packers should trade the first pick if the get it, and get a lower pick and some good defensive players, and if farve calls it a career, they will have a lot more cap room to use on improving their o line and their defense. I think farve will retire because he's only staying to try to win another super bowl, and the packers wont be going to a super bowl any time soon.
