I am a HUGE Cameron Crowe fan. I just finished watching Almost Famous for the millionth time. I was wondering what you guys thought of him and how he integrates such emotion through music in his films?

Damn. Closer is my favorite movie and I still haven't even reached 900,000 views. But a million? Impressive.

What a coincidence, I just made a poll on here asking which of his movies is preferred. Cameron Crowe is definitely my most favorite writer/director. I've watched everything of his except Singles and Elizabethtown, and Vanilla Sky was the only one I didn't like as much, even though it's still really close. As far as music goes, I would agree that he uses music very well to capture the emotions of the scene, even if the music doesn't stay with you after the movie (except for maybe the song Lloyd plays outside Diane's window). A movie like Garden State, though, when I hear Let Go, I can't help but see that scene playing in my mind.

you really should check out both of them, and re-watch vanilla sky. every single time i see it, it gets better. especially the end scene with sigur ros playing.

Brilliant filmmaker, however Elizabethtown was a disaster. his passion for music was a heavy accomplice in burying that film
Nothing has or will ever compare to Jerry Maguire. You can try and convince yourself that Vanilla Sky is better or even Almost Famous, but it's nonsense.
