I like Ocean Avenue more than any song from either band, but I like Over It's catalog more.

Firewater was the song that got me past my teenage romance and in a state where I could hold my head up. Sorry, Over It, but that's the bar and Yellowcard is... over it.

YC's gonna run away with this one, but this is a really tough call. Everyone should really go listen to Timing Is Everything - fantastic album, solid live band, and extremely nice guys. Over It are seriously underrated, and I think that people here haven't heard of them really just shows that. With the right promotion and a solid label behind them, there's no reason why they shouldn't be huge.

i don't think i've even heard of Over It.. but i remember like 8th grade/freshman year when all the pop punk kids were talking about the opening band somewhere that had a violin player that did backflips.

Phil, there's your reason why right there. Yellowcard is not good at all. Never was. This is pretty disappointing but I understand some people outside of AP.net culture don't know who Over It is.

Yellowcard would beat a lot of bands on these polls for me. Over It would also beat a few, too bad they were pinned against YC.

03/23/09, 12:15 PM
I'm a fan of both bands, but went with Yellowcard because of my fascination with Yellowcard a couple years back. I didn't think Over It would be getting wrecked so badly though.

03/23/09, 12:26 PM
First landslide on the list thus far.
I went with Yellowcard because I don't know anything about Over It.
Paper Walls is one of my favorite albums ever. I just can't vote against them.
There was a period of about a few months where I liked Over It more, but I've loved Yellowcard for a longer span of time.

Yellowcard's put out a lot more stuff that I'm still really into years after hearing it. Simple as that

03/23/09, 11:09 PM
yellowcard... its all about the fiddle!
As much as I enjoyed Paper Walls and a few other Yellowcard songs here and there, they might as well change their name to Yellowcrud when compared to Over It. Fucking underrated band too, and it's a shame they're losing (though it was expected).
yeah i think you're right. I was honestly shocked at how many "who are over it?" posts there's been.
Me too, really. They have been part of AP.net lore for several years now. They really are getting smashed here though, 4 to 1, that's just bad. I hope some of the kids at least give them a chance now.

I liked Junction 18 covering over it....
