Okay I already know that you guys think that RS is kind of an abortion, but I was wondering if you guys ever noticed the same thing I do when I read it.
It seems like established artists in the review section always get five stars, no matter how good ar bad the album is. U2's new album got 5 undeserved stars, as did 'Working On A Dream'.
Now, bands such as Green Day or MCR never seem to crack the four star mark. Rise Against got 4 for Sufferer and the Witness. Deja Entendu got 4. ...Is a Real Boy got 3. Nevermind got 3 stars. Pearl Jam got 4 for Ten! WTF.
Don't get me wrong, I have massive amounts of respect for these artists, but right when an album like "The Black Parade' or 'American Idiot' get 3 1/2 to 4 stars.
Is there a rule I just never heard about? Modern bands can't crack 4 stars? Do they just lack the cajones that AP.net has to give a band like Jack's Mannequin the praise they deserve?
