Fan reports in from last night's Yellowcard (http://www.yellowcardrock.com) show:
I attended yellowcard in pittsburgh last night. the show was great, they said since it wasnt heavily promoted and at smaller venues that the tour was for their 'true fans'. They played about an hour and 10 minutes set that consisted of 15 songs, including 4 new ones off of their upcoming new album. Their performance was spot on and the sound was pretty good. Ryan seemed much happier than he did on the warped tour (the only other setting i've seen them in). They did introduce their new guitarest who is very good and fits in nicely. The new stuff sounded great and wasnt so much different than Ocean Avenue except maybe slightly less poppy and more developed than songs like '23' for example.

Yea, I could have reported this same exact information for the NJ show.
No Twentythree and no One Year Six Months, though.. fuckin jawn. But otherwise, rest of the show was awesome... Acceptance rocked the house, too.

This is sad. It's reminding me how disappointed I was with Ocean Avenue. I was so excited for it and it lost its place in my cd player after about a week. Well, it wasn't helped by the fact that I got Thrice's Artist In The Ambulance on the same day. Heh

the fact they didnt play october nights sucks and pretty much makes the show lame. one year six months is my fav song by them though and they didnt play that either.

I do feel a little weird still fully supporting this band but OA along with the other albums have been a big part of me i guess and so i don't want to completly abandon them. Even though it is EXTREMLY weird with out Ben... I'm going to their show on the 26th, we'll see how it goes....
October nights is one of my favorite songs too. Along with Cigarette... it will be interesting to see the full band version

Acceptance was amazing.seen them 3 times and they onllly get better. YC did good too.
they ignored my "where's Ben?" shirt....
that sucks their true fans were with me at the pitt show. it was all little girls. when ryan stopped singing all you could hear was girls singing. me and my friend were the only guys right up front.
i was hugely disappointed. and when they step to the very front of the stage... why do people need to rub their legs? i think its really weird.

Rough Draft and Cigarette are the best YC songs.
October nights is the only yellowcard song I ever liked. Do they ever play it? The only time I heard it was when they were touring right after that cd was released

my brother & i would drive around listening to avondale and yelling at random people on the streets
it was quite hilarious..!
i have tickets for this friday in Cedar Falls .. I'm so excited.
It sounds like they won't be playing "Back Home." That's my favorite off of Ocean Avenue, but if they play Cigarette, then all's good! :)

"True Fans" huh? I believe I only see two songs from One For the Kids - One of them being one of my least favorite, AWOL. I went to see them recently and they played a VERY similar set, if not the same. We yelled for Rough Draft and October Nights, but he said to us "If you're an old school fan you've seen us play that song (October Nights) a million times, so we're going to play another one", and proceeded to play AWOL. Yes, I am an "old school" fan and have seen it played "a million" times, but I still wanted it played. I dont see why they dont play at LEAST Starstruck, For Pete's Sake, Big Apple Heartbreak, October Nights at their shows anymore - not even *ONE*. I understand they're probably sick of playing it, but give the fans what they came there to see.

I saw YC about a year ago at the House of Blues in SC with TSL and The Matches. And it was a similar show, an hour set with old and new songs. At the time Ryan didn't seem happy and it was very apparent. Because of that it they were not at their best. It is good to know that has all changed. I so glad to be seeing some positive news about them. The album is gonna be a huge hit. Like Rohan said they have lost the pop edge. And its about time they did!!

Alrighty.
I'm stoked I got to see them play October Nights at Warped 2004. And Ben was still there, and we hung out during NOFX, in Jacksonville.
Ben was a much nicer dude than Ryan is.
