Biggest good surprise - Penn State
Worst Surprise - Minnesota, they have the number 1 (or did) ranked offense and have the number 1 ranked rushing 'o' in the country and aren't even competing for the big ten title.

i don't know how this can be anyone other than Penn State. They're one play away from being undefeated and are odds on to be in the Fiesta and win the Big Ten outright. This team was written off pretty much until a new coach had 4 years to recruit his people. Joe Pa is going to win coach of the year and old people are going to riot in the streets. I mean rot...not riot.

I for one thought that PSU would surely have another losing record

At first i thought ND, but they had a good season the last time they brought in a new coach. There were a lot of people saying PSU has a good recruiting class, but i would have never expected this. It's really amazing what they've done.

I couldn't have said it better; I figured Notre Dame would have to find the right athletes for the new system, so they have performed better than I thought they would. But Penn State...out of nowhere and with no major coaching changes!

You homer!!! Haha. Seriously though, UCF has made quite a turn around, but I'm not sold on Conference USA being the division it was two years ago. BTW, what about USF? They've beaten some pretty decent teams and are probably in line for a decent bowl game (that is, not the toilet bowl)....
