Removing the finish on an acoustic

I've picked up this acoustic guitar that was custom painted. It's really lame looking and I'd like to strip it all off, maybe just take it down to the natural wood.

Any ideas on what exactly I should do to remove the paint job?

varnish remover. is it solid wood? you want to make sure it is not a laminated top, because using any liquid remover could totally fuck the finish.
