don't know what NWoAHM is, but Trivium is currently the best of those bands. Need to check out their latest release, though, anyone know if it's good?

Ok I was really just being a dick for no reason haha. I personally think they're terrible but that's just because I can't listen to music like that. It makes my ears bleed. There was a time(11 years ago) where I liked a handful of slipknot songs. Wait and Bleed still owns to me despite how I feel about them now. Killswitch did put on a good live show at Warped but I just really don't like that kind of music and can't listen to it without wanting to die. To me it's horrible, horrible music. That's just my opinion. To each his own though.

You mean shitty metalcore dude. Besides Black Dahlia Murder all the bands in the poll are metalcore or just shit. Try listening to some real metal such as Suffocation, Cephalic Carnage,Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon and Carcass.
I'm sorry, but I really don't give a shit what you call it, it's something other than punk, and members of this site don't understand that there are other good genres of music.

Love em or hate em, there's no denying Synyster Gates (Avenged Sevenfold) is one of the best new lead guitarists around. Plus they put on a fucking great show. I love all of these bands (especially Lamb of God. "Wrath" was fucking br00taly awesome), but A7X ftw. kthnxbye.

I disagree, his guitar parts aren't too complex, it's just a lot of scales.

Respectfully I have to disagree with your initial disagreeing. There are a few scales thrown in (Beast and the Harlot and Scream definitely. What lead guitarist doesn't?), but the solos in Seize the Day, Afterlife, Unholy Confessions, Tension, M.I.A, Gunslinger are just so inspired and unique (at least in today's standards as far as the art of lead guitar goes). Plus, the stuff that Gates shows on the albums doesn't even showcase what he's capable of. Check out some of his live stuff! He's like a younger Yngwie Malmsteen.

P.S. Thanks for being courteous when disagreeing with me though. It's totally cool if you still disagree after hearing some of his solos...but at least you weren't a jackass about it. You're entitled to your own opinion. :)

Because it was a response to someone elses comment which was something like

"Wrong. All those bands are good with the exception of..."

Therefore I repsonded with the same thing he said and said those bands are terrible. His opinion was that those bands are good and mine obviously differs as I think those bands are terrible. See how that works? We both have opinions.
