Exactly what's going to be on it. A bunch of songs none of us have ever heard before ;)

Me too...The phone ringing in the beginning is kind of annoying b/c it sounds exactly like my phone, so my roommate always tries to answer it.

I am singing along, tapping my toe, and loving the vocals. Only one thing, I feel that the lyrics are too graphic to be artful. Now I know that someone is going to be like, "It's Max Bemis man! You just can't handle the rawness of his lyrics!", but I shall disagree. I think I can safely say that the majority of us feel that Say Anything is exactly what our music scene needs. Also, I would like to add that the wit portrayed on ...Is A Real Boy is what makes this song so lackluster in the lyrical aspect. With that being said, the song is catchy and his vocals rock, I will leave it at that.

Thanks man, the wit was traded in for bluntness. I liked thinking about what he was trying to get across to his listeners. Not that he wasn't blunt, "Every Man Has His Molly", but it wasn't over the top.

omgggg. Max Bemis is my favorite man in the world. I can't wait to own two copies of ...Is A Real Boy.
the song is a little repetitive, but I still love it.

Haha.. have you heard the song with the lyrics, "I kill, kill, kill little girls"?
and re-recordings of other songs.the reissue doesn't come with any new versions of old songs, last i heard. that would be sweet if they put them back on .. but i doubt it.
hehe I feel good having this already. yay for tower records and sending the preorders anyway.
This song is freaking great. It makes me want to dance retarded.
Little Girls is a good song as well. The rest of the songs are pretty good. but i like the first two the most.

I think they will actually. Because I don't think the band wanted that re-release to get out. Now Bemis has time to record the proposed acoustic versions, etc.

The re-release. n00bz0rz.
I've seen two versions of the reissue..
One had Alive With The Glory Of Love rerecorded, and one didn't but had an extra song titled "I Will Never Write An Obligatory Song About Being On The Road And Missing Someone".
I don't know what to think about this bonus disc anymore, the tracklist has changed so many times.

and for the record, the track listing for ...Was A Real Boy is as follows:
1) Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too
2) Little Girls
3) Most Beautiful Plague
4) It's A Metaphor Fool
5) Total Revenge
6) Metal Now
7) I Will Never Write An Obligatory Song About Being On The Road And Missing Someone
So to clear up all the rumours, there you go. and this is 100% accurate, because i am reading it right off the back of the CD.

I completely agree. The wit and sarcasm on ...Is A Real Boy is great. The number one reason why I love them. Sometimes I just can't help but grin when listening because of the things he says.
This song is super, super catchy though. Every single time I hear a phone ring at work the snare and kick drum pop into my head immediately.

Catchy as HIV.

WHOA!!! arent we all missing the bigger news here. theyve got a new member. now someone figure out who the fuck jake turner is.
and to people saying this song isnt as good as ...is a real boy, i think thats extremely obvious and the songs on the re-issue are mostly meant to be funny, not as involved as the lyrics on IARB. plus, i dont think ...was a real boy is any indication of the direction their headed anyways. no matter what tho, say anything will always rock my face off.

if bemis got payed for every cd Is A Real Boy and the different re-issues that were issued(...?), you think he'd have enough money to pay for his funny farm visits AND all the pot he smoked recording/writing the cd?

What ever happened to Bob Dylan tribute cd they were going to be on?
Covering "Man in Me" with Chris Connelly doing back ups?
I heard the unmastered version of it and need a good quality version as soon as humanly possible.
Can anyone offer any info?

I love most of "...is a Real Boy," but I just don't like this song. And while we're on the topic, don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of the band, and they put on a damn good, if short (because they were an opening band) last year, but I can't stand the song, "Admit It!!!" It's too damn mocking and irritating, like he goes out of his way to blast through everyone. I like the second half of the song, but the first annoys me to no end.
"Alive with the Glory of Love" is still one of the best songs I've heard in forever.

i think this song is awesome.
it repeats the music through a lot of the song but i think it's awesome. Max's lyrics could keep me interested for years.
and ya, the phone ringing always weirds me out too...it's the exact same ring as my phone at home.

The rest of ...was a real boy isn't all it's cracked up to be, still good but definately b-side material.Except for 'Metal now' which fuckin owns. I'm still gonna get the re-release for the acoustic tracks that are supposed to be on there.

no. never fear. max said it was just a cheesy song in the first place so they decided to go all out on this one song and make it disco weird whatever it is... i think its hilarious.

Personally, I think that song is talking about all the people that love it so much, yet they don't really realize it. The song criticizes people who criticize others. So the song in itself is doing what it says not to do. I never really understood why a lot of people like that song so much.
