Below is an update from The Static Age (http://www.thestaticage.com):

While we realize we haven't been out on the road much since our tours over the Summer and into September, The Static Age is far from hibernation. When we're not actually touring (and Adam isn't modeling women's jeans), we do things like focus on writing the next album (a task that, thanks to a good bout of mania, now involves cutting down our number of "keepers" from 28 to 15 or so), hold drummer tryouts, look into a fifth member, plan some extensive touring (including European dates that we'll have more information about shortly), begin talks with potential new management, and the like.

That said, we think we have a drummer. It's not totally official yet, but he does like Adam's jeans. More on that perhaps next week.

It's been kind of a crazy year for us. I guess somehow after 60,000 miles of touring, the re-release ("real" release) and distribution of our second album (thanks to the Tarantulas interns' willingness to trade sexual favors for Tower listening stations), losing a founding member to fatherhood (and pulling on a last minute replacement -- kisses to Coby Linder of Say Anything for spending two months with us), 20+ drummer tryouts, a video shoot that ended with my whiskey-filled body disappearing into Oakland, CA at 3am, two months of living at Tarantulas Records HQ in Los Angeles (neither my liver nor soul will ever be the same), two drunken hit and runs (we were not driving -- our van was hit while parked both times), Coby Linder's Infamous "I Like to Watch" Experience, and so on...two months off is probably not the worst thing that could happen to us. But I suppose we're all masochistic to some extent (Adam certainly is), as we're making plans to start all over again early next year. First shows, then faraway places, then back into the studio for the belated followup to "Neon Nights Electric Lives." More on that soon as well. We can't wait.

From the frigid northeast with love,
Andrew | The Static Age
