i wouldve picked acceptance had not saosin come up on shuffle. had to pick them just cause of the coincidence. that, and it was "seven years"

only old saosin was appealing to me, all of acceptance is appealing to me - therefore acceptance > saosin

I feel bad for what's about to happen to Saosin in this, but I voted for them.
As much as I love Saosin, gotta go with Acceptance.

Acceptance will never leave my iPod.
Both bands have each had one incredible full length. I love and respect Acceptance, but Saosin has a bright future and I dig them more right now.

I hate this because I love both bands so much... but Saosin is such a strong influence on me, I can't vote for Acceptance.

03/29/09, 09:31 PM
Acceptance ftw.... Saosin has some good stuff, but Acceptance beats them without a fight
Really tough, because Saosin has been so weak since Anthony left.
But TTN EP is good enough to beat Acceptance, which is also a great band.

Anthony Green era Saosin should be considered an entirely different band. I haven't listened to Acceptance, but I can't vote for Saosin because anything after Translating the Name is crap.
Phantoms and Saosin's eponymous full-length are both excellent. I do think Jason Vena rapes Anthony Green in terms of vocal talent/quality.
This was kind of a tough one, but I went with Saosin. They have the advantage on vocals for sure, and they're incredible live. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to see Acceptance...
Saosin better have a come from behind win.
TRANSLATING THE NAME! I mean, come on. Seriously.

Acceptance.
One of my most missed bands. I still listen to them very often.
All these promises won't turn golden, until you touch them.

03/29/09, 10:24 PM
TTN is overrated and mediocre at best and Saosin with Cove is shit, that being said I went and listened to some Acceptance and it sounded like generic radio rock and not as good as TTN. So Saosin grabs my vote.

Definitely going with Acceptance.
TalkShowsOnMute
03/29/09, 11:40 PM
I love both but come on, Jason Vena could easily win this entire contest by himself. Once the amazing instrumentals are behind him, Acceptance has to be the heavy favorite.
It really depends on what Saosin we're talking about, Anthony Green era Saosin >>>>>>> Cove era Saosin.
Jason Vena = one of the best voices in recent memory

Old Saosin>Acceptance>New Saosin
My thoughts exactly.
Only cause of old sao, I have to vote for them, as much as i love acceptance.
I still dont see why people don't like the Saosin full length. The melodies are incredible!!
I'm listening to So Contagious. It's actually very good!!
But Saosin are just fucking incredible to me, and I rock out on guitar to their album practically everyday. Saosin it is!

03/30/09, 05:47 AM
Acceptance for sure, but by the end of the week all the Saosin voters will come out for their one time only votes and posts and I will bet that Saosin wins this somehow. Its sad really.

Honestly, I can understand how someone likes Saosin, but I don't think "fun" and "catchy" are the words I would use to describe their music.

I've listened to their self-titled several times, and "catchy" and "fun" are still not words I'd think of. "Dark" and "brooding" are more of what I would think.,

acceptance = great live band...Saosin not so much Jason > Anthony> Cove

03/30/09, 11:04 AM
Saosin are really good, but they'll never have that place in my heart like Acceptance does. Short discography sure, but that debut Major Label album, "Phantoms" is one of, if not, the best debut album ever. And it's one hell of a contender for at least some sort of top 100 albums list or two. Saosin, just never really got it right on every track. Tough love. Going for Acceptance.

Still haven't really listened to Acceptance, and from what I've heard about them they're pretty damn good. BUT I still gotta vote Saosin since I still love their old songs with Anthony to this day...

03/30/09, 04:51 PM
Saosin's ST was a great album, and Seven Years is one of my favorite song's ever, but Phantoms is untouchable. One of those rare albums where I can't think of a single thing to improve upon, where the songs don't age at all. Everything is pristine, every song a winner, and Jason Vena's voice shines on each track. Acceptance did pop-rock like noone else. God I miss them.
zubinmoosa
03/30/09, 05:56 PM
Damn, this one is really, really tough. Saosin is an awesome band (both with Anthony and Cove), and TTN is a classic release. I thought the self-titled was a very solid full length as well. However, Acceptance is a band that released one of my favorite albums of all time. I haven't gone a week without spinning Phantoms at least once. Still, gotta go with Saosin on this one. Sucks one of these bands has to lose.
