View Full Version : Marianas Trench Canadian Tour (Setlist)
Marianas Trench setlist:
Masterpiece Theatre I
Decided To Break It
All To Myself
Acadia
Celebrity Status
Beside You
Masterpiece Theatre II
Sing Sing
Cross My Heart
Say Anything
Masterpiece Theatre III
Encore:
Skin and Bones
Shake Tramp
I decided to post this because I was looking for a setlist for the past few days, to no avail. So hopefully someone out there actually reads this that is going to one of the future shows.
Shiloh and Carly Rae Jepsen played, but I have limited knowledge about their music. But I'll post what I know they played, in no particular order. Carly Rae played around 6 songs or so, Shiloh played something like 8 songs.
Carly Rae Jepsen:
Tug of War
Sunshine on my Shoulders
A song featuring Josh Ramsay (didn't catch the name)
Shiloh:
Operator (A Girl Like Me)
Goodbye, You Suck
A cover of Sugar, We're Goin' Down
Oh and this was from today's Vancouver show. If anyone went to a show on the island, they can confirm that this is the setlist they got.
It was really good. Since I'm 17 and the Commodore Ballroom is almost always a 19+ venue, this was my first time there. My favourite venue in Vancouver that I've been to, for sure.
Only annoying thing was those girls that all yell "MARRY ME JOSH!" It's so annoying because most of them are like 13 or 14 years old. Ah well, can't complain. Can't say I love Shiloh or Carly Rae Jepsen, but they both can definitely sing. Shiloh is only 15 apparently, but looked really comfortable on stage, so that was kinda cool.

Thank you so much! I've been looking for this for a while. I am going on Thursday and I can't wait. I kinda wish that they played Good To You and had Carly Rae Jepsen play with them, but oh well, I'm still stoked about the three Masterpiece Theatres!!
No problem. I figured it would save people from being as lame as me. I searched through the first ten pages of google for `Marianas Trench setlist`and searched a bunch of journals on LiveJournal, DeviantArt, etc. for it, but found nothing.
Yeah, I was expecting Carly Rae to come out for Good to You...
And it was my friends favourite song off of Masterpiece Theatre, so he was kind of disappointed they skipped it. :P
Great show though.
Two other minor details, if you don`t mind them being slightly spoiled.
A group of musicians played the violin and such for the band on a few songs. And Josh played Skin and Bones solo.

Needs "Perfect", but I'd love to see these guys.

Yeah, quite a few people were yelling for them to play that during the encore, but I guess they either ignored it... or didn't want to play it or something.

I did exactly the same thing, I was looking for ages but found nothing so thanks very much!
It's still a really good set, I kind of wish they played Alibis, that's a really good song.

To be honest, Josh's vocals are not the most amazing thing ever, but they were fun to watch perform and he was pretty funny.
And yeah, I love September. Would've loved to see them play a few more songs, play a few more songs from Fix Me.

Alibis I love too.
Frick, I would've loved a longer setlist. The show was supposed to start at 3 and we got out by 5:15. :(
Then again, Carly Rae Jepsen played before 3, Shiloh went on around 3, played for around 40 minutes or so... Trench played like an hour and 20 minutes maybe?

Oh you had the early show? That actually really sucks...I went to an early show (I think it was Boys Like Girls) a while ago and it was SO short. An hour and 20? Wow, that's pretty long. They definitely could have pulled off a longer set, but I guess they're not really used to that, since this is their first tour with two cds.

Yeah, not a fan of the early show. Me and my friends walked out and it was still incredibly sunny, which felt really weird.
Yeah, it wasn't short per se, but I guess I just wanted more Fix Me songs. :P

Not enough Fix Me. However, it's really cool they played all the "Masterpiece" songs. Have seen them 3 times, love this band to death. Great bunch of guys.
This was my second time seeing them... I went a long time where I didn't go to any shows because I didn't really see the appeal... but around this time last year I went to see The Fall of Troy, Protest the Hero and Chiodos and I got hooked on it. Now I try to go to every show I can afford for an artist I like (though a lot of them are 19+).
I'm going to Seattle to see Taking Back Sunday, Anberlin and Envy on the Coast because the show here is 19+. heh
So yeah, Marianas Trench is the first band I've seen twice... well, the first time I saw them they played at my local mall soon after they released the video for Decided to Break It. I had already been a big fan, and it was a free show, so I couldn't complain. It was only a 7 song set, but I enjoyed it a lot.
Speaking of Canadian bands, I really want to go see Ten Second Epic in April. Anyone here a fan of them?

Oh yes, they're great! They're coming to play here in Calgary but it's an 18+ show and I'm 16 which really blows! Are you going to Fall Out Boy?

Of course, they're my favourite band. :P
Less than two weeks, so I'm stoked for that. I'll go get merch when Metro Station is playing. heh

I'm so jealous, I really want to go to that, but I can't get anyone to take me all the way to Vancouver =[ such a good lineup though, I do like Metro Station, but All Time Low and Cobra Starship blow them out of the water. I am seeing Fall Out Boy in England this summer which'll be good!
How much was Marianas Trench merch + were there any cool shirts?
They aren't playing in Calgary? I though they had a date either there or Edmonton. LAME!
And yeah, I'm going mostly for Fall Out Boy, but I also love All Time Low and Hey Monday. Cobra Starship is alright (Gabe should've stuck with Midtown) and I hate Metro Station with a passion.
There was next to no merch from what I saw. There was one design that I saw that was on both the t-shirts and hoodies. $25 t-shirts and $65 hoodies.
Expensive and boring. I might have missed some because I just gave it a passing glance. I think Shiloh had more merch, tbh. hahah

No! The closest they're playing is Vancouver which is so stupid. Alberta always gets skipped over, it's not too great.
I'm very jealous but I hope it's super awesome, it's probably going to be...
Oh wow, that's way too expensive...they're not THAT big of a band. I really don't like Shiloh, I'm not too thrilled on watching her.
Did Masterpiece Theatre III sound as good live as you'd expect??
That sucks. I know how I always bitch about how much more bands go to Toronto and Montreal over Vancouver, but we have it a lot better than Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, as well as the Maritimes.
And yeah, way too expensive. When I saw the $65 hoodie, I actually laughed.
And MTIII was amazing. Really awesome to hear live.

Hahaha, you get SOOO much more than we get here! I get so excited when a decent tour comes along, cuz it never happens. Warped Tour is my only chance to see most of the bands I like.
That's just ridiculous...but I guess stupid fan girls would buy that!
Yeah, I'm so stoked for warped. A Rocket to the Moon, Chiodos, Thrice and NeverShoutNever aren't playing here. :(
But Valencia is, so I'm so so so stoked! The main band I want to see.

I'm upset that Chiodos are skipping pretty much our dates, but I've seen them before so it's all good! I'm pretty choked about ARTM and NeverShoutNever! though. But I think this lineup is so good! 3Oh!3, The Maine, Valencia, Alexisonfire, Forever the Sickest Kids, and Single File are the ones I wanna see most, but there are so many good bands this year.

I'm in the same boat. I've seen Chiodos and Thrice, but have really wanted to see ARTM and NSN!
Bands I'm most looking forward to are Valencia, Underoath, Saosin, Senses Fail, Hit the Lights, Forever the Sickest Kids (they're catchy, sue me), Cash Cash, Bayside and Alexisonfire. Oh and I saw that Lights was added to the Vancouver date, so her too!

Lights is coming to Vancouver? Lame! I'm jealous. She came here in January but it was an 18+ show. I'm excited to see Sing It Loud and TV/TV too! It's gonna be such a good year. I really wish You, Me, and Everyone We Know were coming too!
Are you going to The Fray and Jack's Mannequin in July?

Well originally it said she wasn't playing 8/14, but then the updated list they've posted for each date says Lights... so I hope so. Love her EP.
I want to go to that, but I'm not sure yet... I might be going to Death Cab/Ra Ra Riot/The New Pornographers instead.

I went to the show in Calgary last night, here was the set list:
Setlist:
Masterpiece Theatre I
Decided To Break It
All To Myself
Acadia
Celebrity Status
Beside You
Masterpiece Theatre II
Sing Sing
Cross My Heart
Perfect
Say Anything
Masterpiece Theatre III
Encore:
Lover Dearest
Shake Tramp
Encore #2:
Skin and Bones
It was a phenomenal show, I was right at the very front which was great. Carly Rae Jepsen was unbelievably cute and had a great voice. Shiloh was pretty good too, I've only heard Operator before, which I hate, but the rest of their songs were good. Marianas Trench were definitely the best though. They had such great energy and were just so into it the whole time. They seemed like they were having the time of their lives up there and they kept talking to the crowd between songs, telling us stories, it was great. All the band members seemed very happy to be there, and their set was amazing. From the other set list I didn't expect Perfect and Lover Dearest but I guess they added them. When they did Lover Dearest, at first it was just Josh on the keyboard and he told us that he is a recovering drug addict and this song comes from when he was in rehab. They made him write a love letter to the drug that he was addicted to in order to show them how much they needed that drug, so they could see how pathetic it was. It was actually really emotional, Josh was crying a bit while he was doing it, it was great. Then after the encore, the crowd was still screaming "One more song" so they decided to do a full band version of Skin & Bones which they said they didn't rehearse at all, and it wasn't on the set list. I thought that was a nice treat. It was an amazing show, and I hope to see them again =]

You got Perfect and Lover Dearest, which we didn't.
It's all probably because we had an early show.
And yeah, out of all of Shiloh's songs, I thought that Operator was her worst honestly. She has a good voice and it shows in most of her songs, but not on that one at all. And you seemingly got a full band version of Skin and Bones, where ours only had Josh playing.

Well, on their set list they didn't even have Skin & Bones so maybe they decided they'd rather have Lover Dearest? I'm not sure!
Yes, she's very good, it kinda sucks that she's popular for Operator only, haha. Yes, we did, the bassist said he had no idea how to play it because he hadn't played it for so long! Haha.
I'm jealous that you're probably going to see Death Cab in July though. I would definitely go to that but I'm away just that one week =[ ugh.

That's lame! There's never really any good 18+ shows here which is very lucky. But you get more shows anyways, haha, which sucks.
I really wanna go to The Fray w/ Jack's Mannequin but I don't know anyone to stay with in like Vancouver or near there which is super lame!

I don't think I'd ever trek that far just to go to a show. From here to Seattle isn't too bad, only about 2 and a half to 3 hours, so I'm fine with that.
And hey, at least your drinking age is sooner.
I still have to wait around 15 months until I turn 19. :(

Haha, us Calgary kids are desperate a lot of the time for shows. But I'm hopefully gonna go to Uni in Toronto so then I'd be very satisfied!!
That sucks! It sucks for me because I am in grade 12, and I'm going to be 16 when I graduate this year...it'll be very weird. I just turn 17 right after I graduate!
Weird, I'll be 18 when I graduate. My birthday is June 17th and commencement is on June 19th. :P

Yeah, I remember the good times. They played a free show at the mall near my house after they released Decided to Break It and before Shake Tramp. Shake Tramp just kind of caused their popularity to explode.

Honestly, I think, aside from Lover Dearest, Acadia would be the next worst choice for a single.
Sing Sing, Celebrity Status or Perfect would be excellent choices for singles.
