Okay, I just got back from the Indianapolis date of the Nintendo Fusion Tour featuring Fall Out Boy (http://www.falloutboyrock.com), The Starting Line (http://www.startinglinerock.com), Motion City Soundtrack (http://www.motioncitysoundtrack.com), Boys Night Out (http://www.boysnightout.com), and Panic! At The Disco (http://www.panicatthedisco.com). Below is my show review.
I'm going to do this band by band:
Panic! At The Disco: Played 5 songs (The Only Difference..., Lying Is The Most Fun..., But It's Better If You Do, I Write Sins..., and Time To Dance). I didn't like the pre-recorded synth stuff, but they had a lot of energy. Best part of their set was when their lead singer yelled at the fans because they wouldn't take a step back after he told them to do so. It was funny. The fans during this set made it impossible to enjoy this set.
Boys Night Out: Best set of the night. BNO was the main reason why I attended this concert. The set was full of energy and Connor Lovat-Fraser vocals were right on. The only flaw was that they only played one song from "Make Yourself Sick" (I Got Punched In The Nose...), but other than that, this was easily my favorite set of the night. Pete Wentz also showed up while they were singing "I Got Punched..." and did some screaming for them. The rest of the songs that BNO played were from "Trainwreck" (Purging, Waking, Medicating, Composing, Healing). The highlight of this set was when BNO covered Lifetime. Lovat-Fraser told the crowd if they knew who Lifetime was (only a few people cheered, I laughed at Connor even asking, because half that crowd barely knew who BNO was, let alone Lifetime). It ruled. Easily the best set of the night.
Motion City Soundtrack: Another great set, MCS never lets me down with their performance. They played a good amount of songs from "I Am The Movie" and "Commit This To Memory." MCS played Capital H, Boombox Generation, The Future Freaks Me Out, Better Open The Door, Everything Is Alright, LGFUAD, My Favorite Accident, Time Turn Fragile, and Attractive Today. A lot of energy, a lot of fun.
The Starting Line: After hearing people on this site who have already seen this tour talk about TSL, I expected them to not play well live. I was definitely surprised. I really enjoyed their set, Kenny had a lot of energy and a fun stage presence. TSL played Bedroom Talk, Surprise Surprise, Inspired By The $, Artistic License, Ready, A Goodnight's Sleep, Leaving, and Best Of Me. I was very happy they played "Ready" since that is my favorite song off of BOATS.
Fall Out Boy: The kids went nuts for FOB. I stood in the back, they played pretty much all their songs. They divided their set into "acts"; they had "Act 1," an intermission, and "Act 2." I strongly disliked Pete saying the f-word every other word, but other than that, Patrick sounded pretty decent, Andy was excellent on drums as usual, and Pete and Joe brought all their fun energy to the set. But I left their set a bit early to pass out some Thrice stuff to the people leaving and the crowd was getting on my nerves.
So, I had fun at the show for the most part. The majority of the crowd sucked, but I wasn't expecting much out of the crowd to begin with. Seeing parents in the back of the room was hilarious also. So, all in all, the show in itself was a lot of fun, the bands brought their A-game tonight, I just hated the crowd.

yeah, the crowd during panic! was definitely out of hand... i was there, too, and they were pushing so much that they knocked a forth of the crowd onto the ground (that's why the lead singer yelled). i was one of the people knocked down, which sucked, but at least they stopped doing stupid things like that for the rest of the night.
it was a great show...mcs is always energetic and enthusiastic. bno was better than i thought they'd be (i'm not a big bno fan, but "medicating" was a great performance tonight), tsl was below par (their singer could not keep up with the music and kept slowing everything down mid-song), p!atd was good (but i wish it had been longer and/or they had chosen different songs). i thought fob delivered a stellar performance (patrick had very strong vocals...of the three times i've seen fob, he definitely did the best tonight). i was actually more impressed by joe's onstage presence than pete's tonight...joe was awesome. yay for a wonderful show!

i absolutely hated the crowd during panic! at the disco...i really thought i lost my sister and my friend when everyone started to fall. it was pretty hard to enjoy the show they put on with that crowd...i knew it was a dumb idea getting that close with my foot the way it was but i tried anyway haha. drew did you see me get in the fight with the little girls behind you? they were pissed that i pushed them back cuz they werent helping people up so i pretty much ran over them to help get the crowd up so no one got hurt.

it was like once i got through them, they were dead set on making sure i didnt have a better view than them...i was like seriously you dont wanna piss me off, i dont care if you're 10 and im 24, ill still beat the hell out of you haha.
i didnt see any of boys night out and i missed most of the starting line cuz i was running around backstage and in the vip area...well like the outside vip area not in the actual egyptian room.
we stood pretty far back for fall out boy too and i think it was better. i could see, i wasnt worried someone was gonna step on my foot, i didnt have to worry about crowd surfers. it was just better that way.

the ones i did notice were the three girls standing next to me while fall out boy played....my sister and i decided to start making up our own interpretive dances to the songs...yes we were getting kinda bored...anyway, we knew all the words to all of their songs and the girls next to me said "how do you know all of these songs? i mean they havent been out for more than like 6 months???" i said "ummm this is my 15th time seeing them, and theyve been around for like 4 years or something like that....ive been listening to fob for about 2 years now...." they just kinda looked at me like i had two heads.

i wish tsl would act like they used to when you saw them live....good. theyve totally lost it. kenny acted tonight like he thought he was a major rockstar or something....and i fucking hate it when bands have the crowd sing half of a song. some times its ok...like i like it when mcs has the crowd sing during the future freaks me out and when the crowd sings grand theft autumn with fall out boy but like all through a good nights sleep the crowd sang more of it than kenny did almost as if kenny was too tired or didnt know the words or something...I HATE THAT. he was off too. like jumping around like a kangaroo on speed was more important than actually singing and playing the bass...just a pitiful performace in my opinion from them.

as the scene gets bigger and more popular, the people get more stupid and dont know how to act at shows. they assume moshing at a show or whatever you want to call it is when you go in the crowd and start pushing and hitting random people

exactly. there was this moronic kid at the shit fail/std tour. during the shittiest band on earth's set (that is senses fail for anyone wondering), this fat kid ran into little girls standing on the outside and other little kids in the "pit", and when he didn't have someone to run into, he would almost fall over or look around like an idiot and then find someone to run into. DANCE DIPSHIT, not run into people because you are fatter than everyone else. better yet, don't act excited about senses fail. saves the day owns all. i'm done.

i went to this last saturday, there were a lot of dumbpeople who didnt think fall out boy was around for as long as they were. i think motion city put on the best set, followed by fall out boy, then tsl tehn bno and p!atd, although they were all stellar sets. i thought that fall out boy couldve played WAY longer, they didnt play that many songs i thought, they only played for aboput an hour, cmon, a headliner has to play longer than that. and tsl has got to start playing cheek to cheek in their set.

Yeah, especially during a P!ATD set, where such action is unnecessary.
I was really suprised that FOB was that good. This is like my 3rd time seeing them every other time i saw them they have sucked. Panic was great. I wasn't really into BNO but thats probably because i don't know many of their songs. MCS and TSL were really good also.

Yeah I think we all are starting to hate the crowds at the more mainstream shows but out of all of this I have to agree with the guy that said its easier than ever to get to the front. Like no shit they are small as fuck and I can pretty much throw those small fucks. Yeah I may be out of line but I hate people who dont know how to act at shows. I with the 24 year old Im 26 and have been going to shows for over 10 years and I dont give a damn how old you are if you are in the pit or the front you are going to get pushed around.
toronto date was the same.
crowd blew hard... i like to get into the music, but then there is just being plain annoying. which the majority of the people were.. especially during panic!
i enjoyed it though.
and about the comment with the parents at the back.. and you found that humorous.... why? when people constantly bitch about young kids enjoying this music... is it really all that bad? i mean would you rather them be into ashlee simpson, or fall out boy... i kind of enjoy seeing young kids so fucking excited to see these musicians.
say what you will... but there is nothing wrong with the kids at these shows... a few ruin it for me.. thats understood, but the majority of them are alright... remember one thing... you use to be that age too ;)

at the tour stop in des moines, MCS had the best set in my opinion, followed by TSL. and yes, Pete was being lame. he has nothing worthwhile to say. it was as if he was in second grade and just discovered the word fuck. they gave him a microphone and he decided to show off his new vocabulary. i don't care about saying the word "fuck" but just that fact that he said it so much was just lame.
it was funny that i was able to predict everything he said because i had read the reviews online. it'd be neat if they at least tried a bit to mix up the stage banter. my favorite line = "this next song goes out to the girl i'm gonna make out with tonight." haha. now he was probably kidding with that one. but if he wasn't...ah jeez.

I didn't really like either BNO or P!ATD, and... I left after MCS when this tour came to south Florida. I saw Fall Out Boy (at the same venue, opening for TBS) last Halloween and I thought they were absolutely atrocious. Considering the fact that I don't even like their music, I didn't stay. I still don't regret it. MCS is worth the drive south to Ft. Lauderdale.

ok drew - i am going to have to disagree with you on these two. bno sucked! there is something about the lead singer that i just dont like... he reminds me of a preppy boy who belongs on the real world who i trying to pull off punk just to be cool - and it didnt work for him. i like the fact that they have a chick in the band though, that is pretty cool. but i just didnt feel them last night at the show! if you ask me, i think panic! at the disco put on the best show of the night! Not to mention I got to meet Brendan and got my pic taken with the hottie! ;)
now, with the starting line, i really love their songs, and i like them as a group, but i didnt think they put on a great show, especially after following mcs. mcs has so much character and charisma, its a hard act to follow. i do like the starting line, but they just did not put on that good of a show last night...

You did loose me for a second! I was like wheres megg? wheres megg? I wasnt far from Kristy though, we all got separated during that fall... which sucked. Did you see Kristy holding some crazy bitches back so that people could get up? They were trying to push forward so they could get closer and try to get in front of the people who fell and she was shoving them back so they couldnt get up there.
yeah, the crowd during panic! was definitely out of hand... i was there, too, and they were pushing so much that they knocked a forth of the crowd onto the ground (that's why the lead singer yelled). i was one of the people knocked down, which sucked, but at least they stopped doing stupid things like that for the rest of the night.
Yeah you werent far from us, but I know you were right where everyone fell! The crowd was definitely out of hand, but I have been in much worse crowds. I hope you didnt get hurt in that massive fall though!
Haha, maybe, but I doubt it would top this. If I ever see another shirt that say "(Some Dumb Bitch's Name)! At The Disco" I am going to snap.
OMG... I wanted to slap those bitches everytime they tried to shove their way through the crowd. There were like 4 of them in the green shirts, stupid bitches... They probably thought they were being SO clever by thinking of those shirts, when all they did was show everyone at the show how big of morons they actually are!!!

when Fall Out Boy played "Moving Pictures" i was one of the few people who knew the lyrics. i got some weird looks from the people who didn't know the song. it was cool.
the crowd during P!ATD was awful. i was at the baracade and i could barely breathe through most of the set.
MCS was great. i scratched my shoulder when they were playing "Everything Is Alright" and Joshua's guitar pick fell into my hand. it was cool.
Boys Night Out was great. it was cool how they played that Lifetime song.
this one girl behind me was screaming "I love you Kenny!" during TSL. it got on my nerves so i pushed her pretty far back into the crowd.
last night was the best i will ever have.

I'm sad cause I wanted MCS to play LGFUAD for us :(

I have seen TSL 4 times before this, and i love their new cd but i'd have to see at the NFT was the worst performance by them yet. Kenny used to be all naive, and now he acts totally different on stage. At the NYC date i was out he yelled out things like "I know you all know the words" and things along the lines of "everyone have sex tonight." While i wouldnt be surprised to hear this from other bands, I was in shock when i heard it from them. Either way I thought BNO and MCS put on the best shows.

I went to the show in Toronto and it might have been the worst crowd I have ever been it. Now, I'm only 15 but I've been to over 20 shows. That was my second time seeing FOB AND TSL and my 3rd seeing MCS. Panic were great and BNO were nuts. MCS were great, like every other time. TSL were alright, no one was really into them for some reason. But here comes my issue with the crowd.
As me and some friends were singing along in the middle of the crowd, this stupid fucking couple decided to keep on nudging me forward. I ignored what they were doing and walked closer to the stage after 5 min of this. It came to the point where I almost punched the guy right in the face.
Now, FOB came on an hour and a half later. It was already 11 45 the time they came on and EVERYONE in the room was getting tired of it. By the time they came on, I was so pissed that all the little annoying girls were just getting...anoying! The crowd kept on falling down and my friend almost broke her leg because because no one would help her up. When they played older material, only a quarter of the 3000 plus crowd was singing along. The rest were looking at me while I was going nuts and singing. I ended up watching the show from the back and dancing and singing along after they played "Sugar" because I had had enough.

Yep the crowd was the exact reason I decided not to attend.
ditto. that and it was sold out anyway so i just told myself it probably wouldn't have been that great anyway....awesome bands tho... it just kills me to see how famous the guys of FOB have gotten...

if you're too selfish and ignorant to stop during a show and help up someone that falls and could very easily be badly injured, then you should NOT by all means be at a punkrock show. thats why i loved warped tour so much because every single person (well almost every person) would help someone out, even if they didn't know them. That's the vibe i got anyway because most of the people that attend warped arent dumbass posers who are "oh so obsessed" with the band and have no time to help others.

The pre recorded synth stuff was the reason I didn't like them live, if you are going to have it on the album then you should be able to play it live.
Well, they really can't play it live, cause they got to play their instruments instead (guitar, bass). I do think that they could find someone to play some synth for them, like the girl from BNO or Jesse from MCS.

I agree with pretty much everything except for whatever reason i wasn't too into BNO's performance. It just wasn't that great for me. MCS probably put on the best show, but i loved TSL's performance.
Pete saying the f-word every other time he opened his mouth bothered me too. Not sure why... But because of that, I kind have lost respect for him...
I haaaate when bands do that. It sounds soo lame.
When i went to the STD/SF show. Senses Fail said fuck 10 times after every song and in addition, during one of their songs they sang a part that was like "when i say fuck, you say fuck" and it went on for like 4 minutes. It's so ridiculous. They also did the whole "everybody put your middle finger up" thing. It's sooo lame.

toronto date was the same.
crowd blew hard... i like to get into the music, but then there is just being plain annoying. which the majority of the people were.. especially during panic!
i enjoyed it though.
and about the comment with the parents at the back.. and you found that humorous.... why? when people constantly bitch about young kids enjoying this music... is it really all that bad? i mean would you rather them be into ashlee simpson, or fall out boy... i kind of enjoy seeing young kids so fucking excited to see these musicians.
say what you will... but there is nothing wrong with the kids at these shows... a few ruin it for me.. thats understood, but the majority of them are alright... remember one thing... you use to be that age too ;)
I think it was freakin awesome that parents were there, I just also think it's hilarious. During FOB set, I was in the back talking to some mom's and asking them why they weren't in the pit. lol, I know that I'm gonna be a parent who takes their kids to shows.

i love how whenever a pit broke out at my NFT date (11/3, san francisco, and, fuck, this probably happened at every date) these 12 year old girls would just throw their hands up in the air like they just saw a mutilated corpse. i wanted a BNO shirt, but the line was too long. plus, no clandestine at my date.....lame.

yeah...when i got knocked down along with a forth of the crowd at fusion last night, so many people were just stepping on everyone and ignoring them. finally, some guy threw his hand out and was trying to help as many people up as he could. he helped me up, and it was really hard just to get up because so many people were actually trying to keep people down (because they wanted to get in front of everyone). i have a huge bruise on my knee now from people jumping on it.

now i'll admit first that i am not a musician by any means, i can't compose music for shit (even though i play both the piano and guitar), so i'll say that the fact that this band can compose music (horribly), its still composing music nonetheless. now that i've gotten the "positive" feedback out of the way, i think this band is fucking awful.
MCS played LGFUAD? I kept hearing that they didn't play it... hopefully they'll play it at the show in Jersey. I had to miss MCS's set at Warped Tour... because Thrice was playing at the same time.

to the dude who said it seems like connor belongs on the real world...you're an idiot. i can't put it any other way. one thing that bothers me though is that a lot of the newer BNO fans will never have the chance to appreciate the pre-make yourself sick songs live.

I saw HIPV last night. They were horrible. I only went to see a friend of mine's band play, and I ended up leaving after HIPV's second song. As soon as I heard them sing/yell/suck "step up to the plate and play the game," I had to keep swallowing to keep my puke down. The drums and bass sounded off from each other; the singing was key-jumping, and the guitarists' tones were barely audible. Lorene Drive was okay. They are like a half-assed version of Emaunel. Nonetheless, they got the crowd going.

yea the girls next to me really had no idea what to do when fall out boy would play an "old song" and i mean tttyg old. they just kinda stood there during moving picture. i hate that. i also screamed at a certain part before they played that song (ishotthepilot totally knows what im talking about) and everyone looked at me like i was nuts...ok screaming is an exaggeration it was more of a WOOOOO but yea i still got funny looks.
