I heard that as well. It will be interesting to hear, because I'm used to them having their own songs with their own musicians on each song, especially on The Con. It will be good to hear the combination of both of their songwriting.

Oh I do agree with this to an extent. Not that I think they have awful voices, but I think they're not exceptional. It sounds very unproduced and natural, which is one of the main reasons I like them so much.

Yeah I believe this completely. I still like their earlier releases, but they've continually got better and better. The Con is my favourite album and I hope the new one will impress me even more.

I think I remember reading something about it in a blog on their Myspace? I wonder if this means that they'll both be singing on the same tracks this time? There was always a misconception that both Tegan and Sara would sing on each others tracks.

Fair enough, I get what you mean. Tegan And Sara tend to be my train music, much in the same way you just chill to it. They're a band I just listen to when I'm not really doing anything and chilling.

Well it's good to hear that they'll try. It will be interesting to hear if the songs are any different.


Death Cab for Cutie just added six more shows in July; one stop will be at the Hollywood Bowl where they will be joined by the LA Philharmonic, Tegan & Sara, and the New Pornographers. Show's on July 5th, DCFC fan club pre-sale is on April 16th, and general on-sale is on May 2nd.

That's understandable, I got into T&S in the middle of last year, so I'm relatively late. Back In Your Head was the song that really got me into them.

It was "The Con" for me, back when it was released as a single. I was like "HOT DAMN!" and bought the album at Hot Topic.

One such song, the album's opener, "I Was Married," could be taken as a pro-gay marriage anthem of sorts, if not a sublime pop song. "Sara wrote it, so if I may speak on behalf of her... Her partner is from the United States, so they went through a lot of immigration things. It was a song that Sara wrote after her partner got residency [in Canada]," explains Quin.

"It is definitely a political song and in a way, it's also a true love song," continues Quin. "No matter whether you're a gay or a mixed race couple... when you're drawn together, ultimately it doesn't matter what everybody thinks because it's so honest, true, and sincere. How can that be wrong?"

CDM: What's the status on the new album?
T&S: Chris Walla has agreed to produce. We have asked another Tegan and Sara alumni to come on board and co-produce as well as engineer. Howard Redekopp who did So Jealous has agreed to come back as well. So we are looking at a May/June/July time period to make the record. It will be released hopefully some time in October.

Tegan and Sara have been my top artist until very recently, but Third Eye Blind overtook them. I love "Like O Like H," such a good song.

I have a slight preference towards Sara, but it always used to be Tegan so it's bound to change. I just like 'em both.
