I know I'm ten years late but I bought it recently for under five dollars and watched it ridiculously high tonight.
Man, fucking spooky movie.
Somewhat stupid, but spooky.
shit was lame, but it's a cult.

I haven't seen it. Should I? People I talk to either love it or hate it.

I watched it for the first time about 2 weeks ago and thought it was a snoozefest. I think I am gonna watch it again with all the lights turned out at night.

Massive POS. The only thing that was scary is the end, and that doesn't make up for the previous 85 minutes.

It scared me a bit, but I fast forwarded to the middle and end cause the rest of it was boring.

still one of my favorite horror movies, but its not one of those films you're going to want to see very often. I saw it twice in the theater, and once since. But I've purposefully stayed away since then so it will be fresh when I watch it with my daughter in a few years.

I actually saw it a few months ago at a friends house and was so creeped out I had to stay on the phone with someone on my drive home. I'm a coward.

I watched it a while back, but only managed up to the part where the sticks are outside the tent and their friend is missing. It was pretty boring, but i'm wondering if i should sit through the rest or not?

yeah it was scary back when i was 10. However I saw it again in like, October. The scariness certainly didn't stand the test of time for me. still worth a look if you havnt seen it.
side note, who saw the shit-fest of a sequel: Book of Shadows-Blair witch 2

Yeah, I expected it to be a lot scarier than it was. The people in it were idiots.
Why did you go in the house?
Why did you kick the map in the stream?
Why did you mess with the rocks?

Came out when I was in sixth grade and everyone obsessed over it, even my teachers, and to this day I'm still glad I never saw it. Shit looks incredibly lame just like Paranormal Activity

I said it sucked compared to the remake which really pissed of all the horror aficionados on here. I re-watched it recently, for the first time in over five years, and my opinion still stands.
WTF does that have to do with Blairwicth?
It means you should probably just keep your mouth shut when it comes to horror movies.

You're comparing a movie you haven't seen to another movie you haven't seen.

both are low budget supernatural horror movies with excessive hype that causes the sheep to flock in droves.
For the most part I know my tastes so well I can generally tell if I'll like something beforehand and I'm almost 100% sure neither of these movie are my type of thing
It's cool if it's not your thing, but Paranormal Activity is far from lame.
Go see it first before making assumptions, because it was getting rave reviews two years before all the hype started.

Paranormal Activity is very lame. Blair Witch at least scared me a little bit.

Good lord. Blair Witch 2 was possibly one of the worst movies ever made. By far, the worst sequel ever created (surpassing that of "Batman & Robin" and "Indiana Jones 4").
I still like the original. Yea, the characters are annoying, but the ending always gets me.

I still get shit from my friends because after we watched it I was looking up if the legend of The Blair Witch was real, and they think I thought the movie was actually a documentary.

blair witch scared the freaking shit out of me when i was younger. mostly because i was under the impression that it was real because of the sci-fi channel television show about the movie and about the origin of the blair witch story which came on tv before the movie was released. i still love this movie for being the first truly scary movie i ever saw (meaning it actually scared me).

I was just turning 15 when I saw it in Baltimore during a sneak preview. Burketsville is only an hour from where I live and I remember the media eating this shit up forever. As far as the movie goes.....I just wish they made more horror movies that effective. I'm not talking PA effective, I'm talking PA effective that doesn't blow dogs for quarters.

one of the greatest horror films of all time. loved everything about it when it came out. sure, it gets a lot of heat now because the initial shock is gone, but man, when it came out it was so awesome.
just, the ultimate reality of the movie is frightening. getting lost in the woods and truly having no sense of where you are, and the constant fighting between the members, it was all so real. it just really struck me as a masterpiece.
